Society: The Basics (12th Edition)

Purchased this for a sociology class for college and it came nicely wrapped, they were neat and in order as well. No wear or tear either! Also came a whole week earlier than it was supposed to. Just into before it’s off to school next week!

This is a well-written book on the basics of society and talks about the Have's and the Have Nots, I had a great time reading it. The bad thing is that you will have a completely changed view on society and how you thought society works. I read this book back when I was in community college. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to learn more about how societies work and what goes on in the, and how one person is a Have and how another person is a Have Not. Very interesting. Highly Recommend!

I bought this book for a class that I pretty much just expected to get through. The teacher is alright, but the book is great. It doesn't talk down to you, but explains everything clearly and thoroughly. It interjects humor, speaks in plain English and answers questions you have been curious about. I am a psychology major, so I should say that the study of people has always interested me, so this book was already up my alley. While not exactly a "fun" read, I found this a fun read... for a textbook.

their was one line on eating disorders I thought was wrong it said something like thatdisorders are when you eating enough and a desire to be thin.to my knowledge eating disorders include binge eating as well where you eat very little at times and then you binge and feel like you can not stop eating at others.

Any review of this textbook is kind of pointless. If your professor requires this book then you need it. It is easy to read and there are plenty of helpful diagrams, photos, charts, etc. I downloaded the Kindle/eBook version for use on my lap top and it locks up and stops responding frequently though this probably has more to do with the Kindle Ap you have to have to read the book. It's not a pdf.

This book was for my class and the delivery was fast, the price was about half of what I would have paid at the book school, I took the class over last summer ended selling the book for almost what I had paid for it

It seems that all the pages are there and intact, but there is a lot of highlighting (in blue) and underlining. Obviously someone spilled a large amount of red koolaide or something on the lower half of this book... I still would've rather paid $30 for a $170 book, but to call the quality on this one "good" wouldn't have been my choice of wording.
