This particular bike is really a smooth ride and easy on the ankles, knees, hips and back. I've attached some before and after pictures so you can see what this machine did for me!!! A colleague of mine was so impressed at how fast i lost the weight he came over my house to see this machine that I'd been talking about, it took him all of 30 seconds of riding it before he asked me where he could purchase one! Andy - Levittown, NY. .com Enjoy a total body workout without leaving the home with this Confidence two-in-one elliptical cross trainer and exercise bike. Designed to provide a low-impact cardiovascular workout for all family members regardless of ability level, the trainer is ideal for event training, rehabilitation, and plain-old cardio fitness. At first glance, the unit resembles a standard elliptical trainer, with a pair of footpads that move in a natural elliptical motion, along with a set of arm poles that move in conjunction with your legs. The smooth, fluid movement will tone your arms, chest, back, hips, legs, and glutes while providing a low-impact workout that's five times as efficient as walking. The trainer's a step above most units, however, thanks to the addition of an adjustable seat, which adds more variety to your workouts. As a result, you can turn your trainer into an upright exercise bike and exercise while standing or sitting. The trainer also strides in both forward and reverse to add even more variety. The Confidence trainer includes an adjustable resistance dial to keep you challenged, along with a four-function onboard computer that tracks your time, speed, distance, and calories. And at 34 by 60 by 24 inches (W x H x D), the trainer won't take up a ton of room in your basement or garage. The Confidence two-in-one trainer offers a maximum capacity of 250 pounds and weighs 65 pounds by itself.

The equipment is a little better quality than I would expect for the price
The equipment is a little better quality than I would expect for the price, however it is limited in what it can do for the user. Ended up getting this for my wife as part of her physical rehabilitation after a bad car accident, and the low impact cardiovascular training did great things for her until she could transition back to outside excercise. After she was physically rehabilitated, the eliptical trainer sat idle for a bit in the garage for a year before getting rid of it. The product performed well, and no component of it wore out in the year plus that it was heavily used.

More like 0-in-1: bad as a bike, bad as an elliptical
At this price point, I wasn't expecting this item to be the same quality as what you find at a fitness center, but I figured it would be good enough for casual users to get a quick workout in. This proved not to be the case, since this "2-in-1" is an example of a product that tries to do too much and then doesn't deliver on either promise. The assembly was tedious but not particularly difficult. The instructions are nearly useless with the exception of a couple of diagrams you can use to see what goes where, very basically. Some parts were machined a little wonky, making alignment and tightening more challenging than it should have been. Completed assembly reveals that is thing is just not as stable as it needs to be when in use---lots of wobbling when you get it going. As an elliptical, it feels like you're going to fall off the thing because of the odd angling of the foot-boards. Hard to describe, but it's not a comfortable or steady position. I notice other reviewers mention using a board to make a correction, but I didn't want to do that since I already felt unstable. As a bike, the seat is horribly uncomfortable, and my feet keep slipping off the foot-boards. The handlebars have to be physically moved into different slots for the two functions, otherwise they are either too close or too far depending on which exercise you are doing. Adjusting the tensioning band to make the workout more challenging is a joke; on the highest setting you can barely feel any resistance. And then there's the noise---this thing is LOUD.Looks like a bargain workout solution on paper, but steer clear of this thing! It's not worth the effort to dissemble it nor the cost to return it, so mine will be headed to the curb or Goodwill shortly.

Good value
I enjoy using this machine and I especially appreciate the fact that it has a seat. If only the seat were as well padded as I am!!! The movement isn't as smooth as the incredibly much more expensive elliptical at the hospital's cardiac rehab unit, and it isn't as easy to adjust the tension, but that being said I believe that this is an extremely good value. It is very easy to assemble! I did it by myself, and I am not particularly handy at all.I also love the fact that I can sit on it and read my Kindle as I pedal along.

Decent product - terrible shipping!
I like this product okay, but it isn't the best. For the price it is decent. I'm a small woman and I assembled the unit myself with the tools provided in about 90 minutes. The part that was dreadful was the packaging for shipping. Other comments seem to say the same thing. It looked like it was packed by a child. Tape everywhere. Holes in the box. The handle for tightening the saddle was cracked. Also the small parts were rolling around loose in the box and of course when it arrived one bolt was missing - probably fell out of the hole that had been punched through the box. I was able to find a replacement for the bolt but it was a pain in the neck. Why can't they just put the small parts in a bag or something? One other tip - be sure you put the pedals on correctly - with the curved side facing OUT. I accidentally put one pedal on backwards and when I got on the unit to try it out, the pedal hit up against the unit and a piece broke off. They are very cheap plastic. But that was my mistake so I don't blame the manufacturer - just wish the pedals had been made out of something a little sturdier. All in all, I'd recommend the unit if you are not a very big person - I think it is too flimsy to take a substantial amount of weight for very long.

great 2 N 1, trainer
A childhood injury hampered athletic activities, constant pain - As an adult a less active life style allowed extra pounds to accumulate which aggravated the condition. I tried numerous pieces of equipment to no avail. I muscle tested before purchasing the elliptical. My body said, this would work; and it is. I am really glad I choose the 2 in 1 because I can sit until I build up my stamina, which is accruing faster than I had anticipated. It had a function issue after 4 days use; a thin washer broke and it developed an awful squeak. I contacted the company, (very nice & responsive) they sent me two washers. It turned out they were not the correct one's. I contacted the company again. Spoke to a prats rep. this time, he knew exactly what was required to complete the repair, the parts arrived and the Elliptical is working perfectly. I love the fact that after only 3 1/2 weeks of using the machine 5 days a week for, in a progressive 4 to 15 minutes (so far)I was able to swim one lap, pain free, in a standard size pool; doesn't sound like much, however, I was not able to swim before without extreme pain. Marked improvement at a pace my body can handle. What a marvelous gift.

Perfect for the price
I believe it's perfect for the price. It didn't take more than 30 mins for my husband to put it together. He said it was super easy. I have a newborn and it's not loud enough to wake him up when I use it (usually he is in the same room with me). I do however think that if you're taller than let's say 5' 9" and over 200 lbs that it probably won't work. It seems to be designed for shorter people and not real heavy. I'm 5' 6" and 150 lbs and itll move with me when I start running hard. But I really can't complain it's perfect for me.

Total piece of crap
Used this maybe 10x. 3 different parts broke. Made with cheap plastic screws and bolts that snap and break, and good luck finding replacement parts anywhere even if you wanted to. Might work alright if you weigh like 100 pounds, otherwise, it's just not sturdy enough at all.

loving it
My wife loves this trainer! It is a comfortable size for any room without taking up a wack of space. My dearest is grateful for the seat and bicycle option. Great bang for the price on this one!

Big waste of money
Made for tall people only! AND is very noisy, so if you have neighbors downstairs from you, you won't want to use it! Big waste of money.

Comfortable Purchase
Nice machine that offers forward and reverse cycling/elliptical training. If you are wondering if this is worth the price, don't worry; it is worth the price. As usual with these machines, the set-up is a pain. The instructions are not clear. Another minus is no heart rate monitor. Also, remember to adjust the strap on the wheel to correct the tension you need. You may also consider gluing the foot caps as they have popped off a couple times. You may also consider a gel pad for the seat.
