Product description Review: Well made Tree Branch Spreaders - I have a number of young fruit trees..pears, cherries, apples and peaches. After reading how to prune the trees from the company where I purchased several of these trees, I realized that branch spreaders would help these trees grow properly. Without branch spreaders, too many of these trees branches were almost vertical; the branches needed to grow more horizontally. These branch spreaders are sturdy with heavy gauge wire covered with rubber on both ends. It looks like these spreaders should be durable for enough years to train the branches into the correct shape. It required about ten minutes to set most of this package of spreaders. Once I realized how to twist the spreaders around each trunk, it was quick to hook the other end over each branch. I do wish I could find similar spreaders which are shorter. This 7 inch length seems to be correct for the larger branches but it would be nice to also have some smaller spreaders for the very small branches.
