Had a very tired starter. Ordered this kit and installed in my starter. Kit worked perfectly. Had to buy a new starter. But it was just wore out. Not this items fault. I kept it for a spare set of brushes.

The media could not be loaded. The GPL starter on my Rotax 503 needed to be rebuilt. I purchased this kit on recommendation from one of the folks in our Challenger II Ultralight group. When I removed the starter and disassembled it, I found that the brushes in my starter were worn past repair and stuck in their slots. Springs were shot and the armature was dirty. I replaced the brushes and bushings with this kit and re-assembled. Works great now. Reason for only 4 stars is the brush base did not fit/wasn't the same as the one in my starter so this is not a direct replacement kit. But it does the job. Great value for me as a new GPL starter is about $500. The photo is of the new brushes installed in the cleaned up starter brush housing.
