Product Description Review: Heavy-Duty, High Quality, Does Exactly What It's Supposed To - When I first saw this, I thought who NEEDS this thing... until I realized *I* needed this thing! We just bought a new home, and I swear the city water meters are wonky, that or the "meter reader" isn't doing their job right. So now, instead of having to crawl down on my hands and knees out by the curb, I can use this very handy-dandy lifter, designed exactly for what I need it for, to save my back, and allow me to peak in on the meter and monitor for myself. Even though our meter covers are heavy-duty plastic, they're still hard to grab through the skinny hole. This things make quick work of getting a look into the "underworld." And it is STURDY!!! Super heavy-duty plastic to grab onto (comfortable even), and the metal rod is no slouch - it is STRONG and seems that it could definitely do the job on a heavy manhole cover or cement meter lid, as advertised - no doubt in my mind (my pic shows it with its safety cap still on - it's sharp and pointy, but made to get 'er done). Handle is red, as pictured, and the steel used is super strong... didn't detect any tendency to bend under pressure (of course I had to try it against the sidewalk), but do be careful, this thing definitely could also serve as a meat hook, as described, as well. It's a decent value of how well built this thing is. I don't have any large sides of beef to be moving around, but if I did... this would be the hook! But I am glad I got it to be able to keep an eye on our water meter - so far, so good! Review: Great Tool for Lifting Drainage Grates - I have multiple drainage grates that measure 24" x 24" down the length of my 600 foot driveway. Every so often, I need to remove the grates to clean debris out that can accumulate. The grates are extermely heavy and hard to pick up and move around. This tool makes all the difference. I can hook the grate and pick it up with much less effort and no chance I am going to pinch my fingers. Putting it back in place is easy also. Just drag it over and let it drop in place. Very happy with this purchase recommend this product to anyone who needs one.

Great Tool for Lifting Drainage Grates
