They do have a slight texture which I love but my husband said he didn't expect that. I dyed two of the three and have been impressed with how well it took the dye. They are lightweight which have been perfect for summer. Breastfeeding is miserable in the heat with all of my other blankets but these blankets are perfect. I also love how big they are. They actually cover and swaddle my baby unlike all of the other "swaddles".
