I got this book to expand my knowledge in talent management and sure it did without having any previous experience in talent management or human resource. All what I have is a bachelor degree in human resource but I found this book easy to understand and a learning guide.

Good practical examples; covers all relevant areas of Talent Management - great book to read and to look for specific information.

As a masters student in Management, I have picked up many books to expand upon what I'm learning in my classroom studies. This book has exceeded my expectations. The topics discussed are all top notch and well developed. Well worth the money.

This is a good read if you are trying to develop yourself in the business world.

Used this book for MBA course at a major research university. The information in it strongly matches the techniques used by successful corporations. The biggest divergence from what is advocated in the book vs. high-quality talent management programs is where the book advocates avoiding self-assessments. It argues that self-assessments are generally the least accurate representations of performance, however, I argue that they have many other benefits such as creating a discussion rather than simple feedback, allow self-reflection for the associate and level set beliefs on performance.

If there is something you want to learn in Talent Mgt, it's in here. Concepts are very comprehensive, although the latest science isn't covered in great detail.

Excellent work. It touches on the critical aspects of talent management. The research content completes the picture. A must have book.

I found that the most of the book is very useful and generally true but some things are too US-specific. For example, in most of the European countries, people would find it strange if you sent them a thank you note.

If you are in the business of managing human resources, you must have it on your desk. It is an excellent book and I read it almost every day.

Excellent view parameters, mainly focusing on Managing performance

This book is in essence a collection of articles by different people on various aspects of talent management. The chapters/articles are very clearly written and are succinct so easy to read. I've read most of them on a dip-in-and-out basis and I've amassed a wealth of ideas and information in a very short space of time. Published in 2011, it's bang up to date with recent examples. There isn't a great deal of discussion about theory so choose something else if that is what you want. I've worked in HR for many years and believe I can always build and learn more and this book hits the spot nicely.
