Teaching Torah: A Treasury of Insights and Activities

We used this for a year in our Torah study. We read from the Tanakh and then did an activity each week from the many options available in the book as well as our own art project to keep track of each week's parshah. The book is well organized so I had less prep to do and we learned a lot! It also offers great resources - books and media that we were able to use as well. One of our favorites was the book Sedra Scenes (by Beiner) but there were so many. We also used The Bedside Torah (by Artson) for an additional summary and some commentaries on weeks when we had less time.

Part of my work involves teaching the weekly sedrah to children of primary and high school age.T his book has helped tremendously. It gives clear synopsis of each weeks parsha and practical ideas on all levels on how to put it over to the children using methods that incorporate games, activites and discussion.It takes the sedrah at levels suitable for family discussion and as a Bar Mitzvah Project aswell as giving further resources to extend the sedrah yourself- truly a worthwhile book for families and educators
