Do i need to use elmer's rotted wood repair solution to harden the wood before i use elmer's damaged wood repair system?

I followed the advice of a previous Amazon reviewer and sealed the wood with Minwax Wood Hardener rather than using the Elmer's repair solution.  The Minwax is solvent-based rather than the Elmer's water-based product, and is reportedly more viscous, so it clings to the wood better while drying.  The idea of using either repair liquid is to reinforce the wood and seal it from further moisture damage.  I would certainly use one repair liquid or the other before filling with the Damaged Wood repair  epoxy.

Question 2

has anyone seen any references to drying or curing time depending on humidity or temperature for exterior use applications?

I applied this in the evening, around 7 pm or so, and it was hard as a rock (completely cured) when I checked it early the next morning. This was in August, when the daytime temps were in the 90's and overnight temps in the 60's. Utah - low humidity.

I taped a wood dooe shut when moving a bureau will this help restore the wood?

I don’t understand what wood damage you caused, from what you said.  This filler will fill holes or add material (which can be shaped) to damaged wood, which can then be painted (or possibly stained, but it won’t have wood grain).  Because it’s a two-part mix, it’s extremely strong when cured.

Question 4

i am trying to fix some damaged particle board on a bookcase.  i was comparing this to the dap plastic wood.  thoughts?

It depends on the amount of damage. Since it's indoors, the DAP plastic wood would be fine if the damage was small, and the area is not something that holds a screw/nail/fastener. It's also a pretty quick and easy process. The Elmers is more involved to use since it's a 2-part epoxy, but it provides a much stronger repair that can hold a nail/screw/fastener, and can be sanded after it cures. It also can be painted, and it holds paint better than plastic wood.
