Total Water hardness Test Kit is only a ball park test
I wanted to test my spa water hardness and add then treat the water to make it harder within the range of 120ppm to 180ppm. When I did the test with the tap water it turned blue right away. That is 0 gh hardness but my total water Hardness is 80 ppm from the tap. If 1 gh is = 17 ppm then it should have taken around 5 drops to reach 80ppm. I treated the spa and should have taken it up to 150ppm but only took 3 drops to turn green = 51ppm "no Way - inaccurate.
