Solid Album by a Solid Band
I've been a loyal fan since 2003 and it looks like I will continue to be one; this is a very solid effort and in terms of track sequencing this is far more balanced than their last record (which doesn't make that record a bad one by any means!). I do feel that the weakest tracks are the last two but overall I can't pick a favorite song on here and I think that's a good thing. That to me shows that this is a solid album worthy of your full and complete attention. That being said I think I've gravitated towards "I'm The Devil" and "Worst Movie Ever" as the two high points of this record, which makes for good driving music when you're racing up 183 trying to get to work on time. No matter what, each album is fun and daring and I'm kind of sad that these guys aren't headlining arenas with giant, elaborate stage shows. Still, you gotta support a band that takes the risks that this band takes and turns out such good music so consistently.

An Electric Six album is never going to be bad but unfortunately this is about as close to bad as they can get... which is average. There was not any one track I would instantly click on to play again, but I would not click next if one came up on rotation. If you are a fan, it is a no-brainer to buy you won't be disappointed (or over whelmed). If you are checkign out Electric Six, I'd suggest going through their back catalog and working your way forward.

Another great Electric Six album. I gave Mustang a pass, but this one is excellent.

E6 Will Outlive The Cockroaches
Electric Six return once again to stack another album onto their impressive discography full of comedic synth & rock anthems. Human Zoo continues the "melting pot" approach to Mustang by having all their previous styles blended together in each track, while still leaning more towards rock in my opinion. I also noticed some motown/50's rock n roll elements too, especially Alone With Your Body and Karate Lips. Gun Rights is pretty annoying vocally, but I gather that was the point - it's still a funny track. The multiple song references to the devil harken back to their first few releases. However, the overall lyrical approach to Human Zoo seems more intent on pointing out the ridiculousness of organized religion and general unnecessary human conflict, all wrapped up in Dick Valentine's usual humorous lyrical wordplay.I will say there is definitely a lack of an overall standout track on Human Zoo. The album runs together and is over in a lean 39 minutes. Definite highlights are The Afterlife, Karate Lips, and Good View of the Violence. This album will please diehard fans, to whom E6 continue to cater to as it should be. They are songwriting machines and while some of their tracks are hit and miss, when weighed against their entire discography they have countless classics to their credit and Human Zoo indeed contains a few of its own.Newcomers will likely be confused and should start with Switzerland or Senor Smoke, but for existing E6 fans this is another fun record from the band you know and love.

Again a superb album. A number of songs that hit you straight away such as Rio in Flame with its orchestral backing to others that grow on you the more you listen. Mustang was probably a bit smoother in sound overall but I cant fault Human Zoo. Well done E6!

Human Zoo
Human Zoo is yet another great E6 album. "Alone with Your Body" and "Satanic Wheels" are the standout tracks. I changed the rating to 5 stars...long live Dick Valentine and E6!!!

Electric Six rarely disappoint, this case is no exception
Electric Six rarely disappoint, this case is no exception, but this album is not without it's faults.Track by track,Karate Lips is an excellent opener, a solid hard rock song with great lyrics,It's Horses*** is a decent track, nothing special,Alone with Your Body is probably the catchiest song they've put out in a few years, Very fun and upbeat,Satanic Wheels is another strong experimental track.Gun Rights, is kind of annoying. It grows on you however, Probably the weakest song.I've seen Rio in Flames is also poor for the first half, the second half is magnificent though. Tylers vocals are very strong.Who the Hell is also fantastic, a great groove and chorus.I need a restaurant, is a good rock and synth track, nothing special.Worst Movie ever is one of the better hard rock tracks, some great guitar work.I'm the Devil, is another strange one. Not exactly intended to be catchy just strange., it barely resembles a song.Good View of the Violence is another great high energy anthem like track, would be great live. The Afterlife is fantastic, great lyrics, great instrumentation and a cool ambient vibe to close the album off.Overall there is 7 great songs on the album, two average and 3 strange poor track inclusions. Its definitely worth a purchase however and will grow on you after multiple listens.
