Blips Macro Kit - Mini-Lenses for Smartphone and Tablet

I am a self-confessed fan of SMO and I own all of their products. I liked them so much, I demonstrated them at work and now 4 of our divisions have Blips and Diples.Blips are not meant to replace a lab ‘scope, but they can be your “always ready option”. Blips might not be the optical masterpieces that are the Diple products (also by SMO), they are more versatile. The stick and unstick without leaving a residue, you can use your cell phone flash as an illuminant, and because they are not rigid they are remarkably durable.Fun!

Bought to add to my entomology field kit. They’re okay. Not great, but not horrible. Just okay. Kind of glad I didn’t purchase the whole kit from the website.Don’t expect the quality of the images shown in their website’s gallery, as those are VERY misleading. The lenses do the job of magnifying the subject but you loose detail, sharpness and clarity. Also make sure it’s known before you purchase, exactly how close you have to get with the lens to even have the image focus. You won’t be able to take photos of much wildlife (like what’s shown in their gallery as well, also misleading.)The first photo is with macro, second photo is with macro plus.

I played with these for a day or two and took several hundred photos and they work great. At the time I was prepping to give a presentation on smartphone photography and found them a week or so before the talk and ordered them. They work as advertised. With smartphones and photography, you really need to be totally still and hand-holding micro or macro lenses is difficult but if you take a few shots and your subject isn't moving, these are fun and they work fine. I honestly forgot that I had them after the initial testing and haven't' used them since, however, they are good and do work so if you are into close-ups with your phone, they are worth the money. I have the other types of attachment type lenses and these seem to match the image quality and experience using them. You just have to hold your breath, and be very still and take a lot of shots or use a tripod.

For the price, these are pretty good. Sure beats lugging a macro lens around with your DSLR. You may have to fiddle a bit with the positioning (these are just tiny lenses you tape over your existing lens- the kind of lenses they put in laser pointers), but you can get some pretty decent results.

First: this is an excellent product. The lenses are a marvel, and I’ve had a wonderful time experimenting with macro photography.HOWEVER, the description on this page is deceptive. In the description it is clearly stated that the kit includes the macro, macro plus, micro, and one ultra lens. However THE KIT ONLY CONTAINS THE MACRO AND MACRO PLUS LENSES. The Ultra and Micro lenses are NOT included.It’s not just a matter of an incorrect description, the seller even answers questions about the magnification by referring to the power of the ultra lens, which makes me believe they are being deliberately deceptive.That said, once again this is a good product offered at a good price, so I wouldn’t feel right giving a one star review. If the seller updates the description to accurately reflect the item, I would rate this at 5 stars easily.

These work great to magnify objects for phone photography. I am concerned however with the method of adhering thee to the phone. They have a "reusable adhesive that will wear out, then some replacement adhesive to use after this happens. Very pricy for something that is essentially disposable.

What a great idea to get really great close ups - you tape these to your camera lense on your phone (I have a note 10+), they give you extra tape, and it eliminates that circle effect like you get from clip-on lenses which never work. 2 lenses included and very well packaged. Next day delivery, I am happy! Will submit photos when I have the time!

I love this lens for identifying bugs on my succulents without having to pull a leaf off. It works through an app on my iphone to turn it into a microscope. Easy to use. Comes with extra tape if the original tape looses stickiness.

Ero alla ricerca di lenti macro compatibili con il mio Huawei P20 Pro e mi sono imbattuto in queste Blips, che il produttore (italiano) dichiara compatibili con smartphone con sensore multiplo (nello specifico iPhone X e Huawei P).Incuriosito da questo nuovo formato di lenti, dal progetto italiano e da alcuni video visti su youtube, ho deciso di acquistare il kit base (e più economico) con solo le lenti Macro e Macro Plus.Il kit include due lenti :Macro Plus : ingrandimento 5xMacro: Ingrandimento 10xSinceramente, non mi è chiaro perché la lente con ingrandimento inferiore si chiami “Plus”.Pro:L’astuccio, anche se in cartone, è ben concepito per il trasporto (nel taschino o in borsa) ed è provvisto di tre feltrini che proteggono le lenti e che possono essere utilizzati come distanziatori per le macro.Le lenti si adattano a diversi dispositivi: Io le ho testate su Asus Zenfone Max, Ipad e, finalmente, anche sul Huawei P20 pro.La qualità degli ingrandimenti è veramente buona, per delle lenti da smartphone, anche se è presente un minimo di distorsione ai margini delle immagini (in quantità inferiore rispetto ad altre lenti provate).Anche il rapporto di ingrandimento, sembra corrispondere a quello dichiarato dal produttore: Cosa molto rara per prodotti di questo tipo in cui, generalmente, si sparano numeri a caso 10x, 20x, 100x per colpire l’acquirente.Contro:Bastano pochi millimetri e la foto non viene a fuoco: Ci vuole molta mano ferma o, meglio, un supporto. Dopo un po di tempo ci si prende la mano, ma con la lente 10x, non è affatto facile.L’app “Smo” realizzata dal produttore, offre la possibilità di scattare le foto con ritardo, evitando il movimento del telefono nel momento dello scatto ma, a mio avviso, risultano meno luminose (buie) rispetto a quelle fatte con l’app di default.Probabilmente l’app Blips funziona meglio con il kit Micro e la sorgente luminosa dedicata.Non è assolutamente immediata l’applicazione “corretta” di queste lenti: le lenti sono molto piccole (in particolare la Macro 10x) e vanno posizionate “esattamente” al centro del sensore principale dello smartphone (nel caso del P20 Pro , il secondo dall’alto).Un’applicazione non corretta di queste lenti, rende le foto sfocate e distorte, quindi inutilizzabili.Non sono assolutamente plug and play: le puoi portare nel taschino ma, per applicarle correttamente, ci vuole pazienza e tempo.Altra nota dolente è che, nonostante ciò che dichiari il produttore, l’adesivo non tiene molto bene sugli smartphone con il case in vetro.Nonostante abbia pulito lo smartphone prima di applicare le lente, mi sono trovato più volte a doverla riallineare sul sensore, perchè l’adesivo scivolava sul vetro.Specifico che ho acquistato la variante “Metal Series” (con l’aggiunta di due strisce di alluminio), concepita appositamente per questo tipo di smartphone.Una soluzione per non far spostare e per non perdere le lenti è applicare la cover in silicone dello smartphone sopra la lente (se non è troppo spessa).Nessun problema, invece, con case in plastica o alluminio.In conclusione:Compatibili con gli smartphone più recenti con più sensori.Ingrandimenti veri e di buona qualità.Ottime per l’utilizzo in casa, a lavoro o a scuola, dove si ha il tempo per posizionarle correttamente.Meno adatte per macro “improvvise” o in “mobilità” per la difficoltà di applicazione e messa a fuoco senza supporto.Ci vuole attenzione per montare correttamente la lente.Da migliorare l’adesivo con i dispositivi in vetro.Quattro stelle per la qualità delle macro e per l’originalità e l’innovazione di questo prodotto italiano.

Acquistate diverso tempo addietro, arrivano ben confezionate e con del nastro di riserva per "l'aggancio" allo smartphone.Provate sia su smartphone con singola camera, sia con tre fotocamere: tutto perfetto.Il segreto per un corretto utilizzo è quello di centrare bene la lente sull'obbiettivo: fatto questo non rimane che avvicinarsi ( oppure allontanarsi) dal soggetto per la messa a fuoco.In condizioni di scarsa luminosità è utile avere una fonte luminosa aggiuntiva.Consiglio il prodotto come divertente ed hobbystico: potrete fare fantastiche foto e scoprire "nuove prospettive".Non pensate di trasformare il vostro telefono in un microscopio professionale: serve altro per questo.

Prese per curiosità si sono rivelate davvero efficaci nel trasformare le lenti del telefono in obbiettivi super macro, si possono fotografare dettagli super definiti (tipo un occhio di mosca) quasi come fosse un microscopio e la app gratuita da scaricare aiuta a gestire svariate funzioni in modo più semplice rispetto all'uso del programma fotocamera del telefono che rischia di non essere adeguato alla nuova capacita di ingrandimento

Funzionano molto bene, sono contenta di averle prese. E' molto importante usarle con buona illuminazione e aver la mano ferma, dato che bisogna avvicinarsi parecchio a ciò che si osserva; ho scaricato la loro app per usare la torcia del telefono quando non c'è abbastanza luce ambientale e la trovo utile. Ingrandiscono molto, in particolare la verde. Le uso sia per video che per foto, un po' dovunque...

Il prodotto è arrivato velocemente e ho provato di fare qualche foto...a dire la verità non ho trovato molta differenza con obiettivi diversi, pensavo alla praticità delle dimensioni ridotte, forse non lo saprò adoperare, ma ho fatto tele foto orribili e dpvevp comunque tenermi ad una cetadistanza per non sfuocare. Una delusione
