A beautifully crafted graphic novel adaptation of Harper Lee’s beloved American classic, voted the #1 Great American Read 2018. ‘Shoot all the bluejays you want, if you can hit ‘em, but remember it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.’ A haunting portrait of race and class, innocence and injustice, hypocrisy and heroism, tradition and transformation in the Deep South of the 1930s, Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird remains as important today as it was upon its initial publication in 1960, during the turbulent years of the Civil Rights movement. Now, this most beloved and acclaimed novel is reborn for a new age as a gorgeous graphic novel. Scout, Jem, Boo Radley, Atticus Finch and the small town of Maycomb, Alabama, are all captured in vivid and moving illustrations by artist Fred Fordham. Enduring in vision, Harper Lee’s timeless novel illuminates the complexities of human nature and the depths of the human heart with humour, unwavering honesty and a tender, nostalgic beauty. Lifetime admirers and new readers alike will be touched by this special visual edition. Review: Value for money - Nice read Review: Its beautiful and a collector's item - having had the option of going through the classic in the traditional ant-print, voluminous book or a book with lots and lots of picture, i went with the only option, any like-minded individual would take. Go for the book with pictures. So pretttttttty !! So yes that is how i ended up with reading the graphic novel version of to kill a mockingjay As mentioned, i had never read the classic before and even after going through the graphic novel, i am not any far ahead. Yup ! you heard me. If you are like me and is going for the book just to read the classic with a cheat method then let me tell you it isn’t quite successful. Or would it be? well lets just say that it didn’t for me because i feel all i got from reading the novel was nothing more than a book blurb available at the back of the original book. My point is that while this book is amazing and the team behind this graphic novel are brilliant, this book is not meant to be a substitute for the original classic, if you haven’t read it already. This is supposed to be more of a companion novel. It will be an amazing addition to anybody who are fan of the cult classic. The print, illustration and the layout is amazing, to die for and almost like a collectors item. It is a beauty in art and each page is like glorious. I am in awe of the book. But to judge the book as a novel, then one has to understand (which i did too late) that the graphic novel is there to jog your memory or be a gift to the fans of this classic because what you get are the snippets of the story . well a detailed snippet but not the depth and the layers offered by the voluminous classic In short this graphic novel is a collectors item. I think everybody should have this in their collection if your are a true blue blood book lover. (is there a term like that ? anyways you get the point) But do not take this book as a substitute for the original classic because to understand and imbibe this cult, you need to read the original. For those who have already read and loved this classic, you need to get this copy today itself. its a work of art like literally but what a beauty man !! brilliant

Beautifully illustrated
Not as good as the book since certain things should be best left to themselves and not changed. But people who prefer graphic novels should definitely give this version a read.

A Captivating Adaptation
The graphic novel adaptation of "To Kill a Mockingbird" is a stunning reimagining of Harper Lee's timeless classic. Retaining the essence of the original story, the illustrations add a new dimension to the narrative, bringing the characters and settings to life in vivid detail. The visual storytelling enhances the emotional depth and impact of the novel, making it accessible to a new generation of readers. While purists may argue for the superiority of the original text, this adaptation successfully captures the essence of Lee's work while offering a fresh and engaging experience. For fans of the original and newcomers alike, this graphic novel is a captivating homage to a literary masterpiece.

A beautiful classic, beautiful graphics, in depth treatment
A simple but a beautiful and realistic Story. It is a story unfolding in Alabama, trhough the eyes of a kid (girl); during a period , when African Americans are still treated like sub-human by most. Not a complicated human rights story, rather a plain and simple human rights story, about all prejudices. It is a balanced simple perspective. I have not read the original classic or seen the movie, still I felt the depth of the story. It is a book that I felt like a classic story, after a really long time ...kid's narration helps the reader to get the story in unbiased way i.e., The graphic novel has brought out all the characters well, I got a good feel of the characters of the story. I liked the pictures very much. Recently all graphic books rely on intense colouring and lots of highlighting/ rendering...feels like a loud or screaming pictures. But this was very pleasant and gives realistic hue to the pictures and brings out the beauty of country side and expressions. I thank the artist for selecting this scheme of colours and pictures... Overall it was a good experience.

Can be enjoyed by Adults as well as Children alike!
It’s an amazing experience as a book and also as a story! I had read the unabridged version of the novel. This piece caught my eye on Amazon itself! And as I knew the story beforehand and understood that I can read the book to my young adolescent child, I purchased it. I haven’t been disappointed at all. It excited my boys and I read all the book to them! You may also try the same.

Both regular and new readers will be touched by this special visual edition of the classic!!
The book talks about the adult attitude to race and class in the 1930s from the young eyes of Scout and Jem Finch. A rare and fine novel by Harper Lee, as important today as it was upon its initial publication in 1960, throws light on hypocrisy, injustice, tradition and transformation. The author illuminates the complexities of human nature as well as tenderness of human emotions with honesty and nostalgic beauty. Both regular and new readers will be touched by this special visual edition of the classic. Highly recommended to everyone!

Only disappointment is not suitable for long run.
The product is in better shape and condition. But, it won't sustain for a very long run. The illustration is good. You have to handle the book with care

Classic
"It's when you know you're licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what" (pg. 125). I really appreciate this story. It is one of my favorites and I try to read it once a year. I just saw it on stage in October. All the obvious criticisms aside, I find the telling of it from Scout's sweet perspective to be a powerful way to tell the story. I chuckled often throughout. Unlike some graphic novels this one isn't a retelling or modernization, it stays true to the story but breaks it up into panels and provides illustrations to aid in the storytelling. It is well done. A word on the illustrations: they are fantastic. There are some pages with no words and because the illustrations are so fantastic no words are needed. If you like TKAM I think you will appreciate this version. If you've wanted to be introduced to the material this would be a nice way to start. A good addition to a classroom library.

Excelente adaptación.
Una adaptación muy fiel a la novela original; con un dibujo que plasma con detalle la época, y que acompaña perfectamente la historia que se cuenta.

graphic novel: on time + quality
Prodotto arrivato nel tempo previsto; ben conservato. Non me lo aspettavo così voluminoso, ma è pur sempre un bel graphic novel.
