The large opening of the pipe decreases the output pressure and spreads it to a larger, more gentle flow pattern. This is especially useful because using an oversized filter for my small tank produces a very strong current with the original pipes. Because the pipes are clear, they also blend themselves in to the tank a lot better and look classier in my opinion. I also bought some clear tubing to use for the filter so I wouldn't have ugly black tubes hanging out of my tank as well. Some have complained about breaking the pipes installing the tubing but I had no issues. Wet the pipes and tubing with warm water and slowly work them up the pipe. It took less than a minute for each pipe. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Would have been perfect....but *by M***L on Reviewed in the United States on February 25, 2019* My lily pipe arrived damaged. There was a noticeable crack in the lily part of the outflow about 3/4" long. It would probably still work fine, but it's not perfect and for something like glass inflow/outflow, I want them to be perfect. My package also only came with 2 suction cups when there should be (I assume) four of them since there are spots for 2 on each of the outflow and the inflow pipes. Of all the things they'd skimp on, I find it strange that it would be suction cups. I have contacted the seller about my damaged outflow. We'll see what happens. For now, I give it 2 stars cause the inflow pipe is great.UPDATE:The seller responded and sent out a replacement for the lily pipe. For the quick and friendly response, I've added a star for customer service. However, it seems quality control is still a problem. The new replacement lily pipe does not have an obvious crack, but it DOES have stress cracks (or scratches) at the point where the pipe portion expands to the lily bulb portion. Since it's not obvious, I'll use it. But for the pristine, clean look I was looking for, these small stress cracks just take away from the perfection I was hoping for. Hence, overall I'm giving 3 stars. I hope the seller can put more effort toward quality control. Packaging seems great, so it's just a matter of inspecting the pipes before packing them. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ SKIMMER DOESNT WORK UNLESS YOU FOLLOW MY STEPS. *by L***O on Reviewed in the United States on July 23, 2021* Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  SKIMMER ONLY WORKS AFTER MODIFICATION. I bought This specifically to be a skimmer. IT DOES NOT WORK RIGHT OFF THE BAT. It’s too light weight and does not suck in water because it floats too much. I took a butter knife and heated it on the stove and had to create ridges HALFWAY UP on the bottom half of the cup in order to reduce the air bubble that keeps the skimmer floating. after being modified it works swimmingly. I’m very happy that I did not have to pay for an expensive skimmer. Hopefully this review helps those who need a skimmer.
