Did nnt do as good a job as the previous model that allowed it. so long story short, we went back to the lower model so we could have the best smoothies made oin the cups. the larger model made you use the huge blender to use the smoothie function and we couldn't see making family size smoothie batches every time...so be forewarned, the different containers may "fit" different models, b ut don't necessary allow you to use whatever function you prefer as each model is programmed differently.
