Easy to use and sounds great
Nice and easy to fit into my car, and it sounds great too.Easy to use, CarPlay works well too. Screen isn’t the greatest quality, but it’s no worse than a lot of screens that come as standard in cars from pre-2015.

Good, but not perfect
Carplay - in my head, I'd be telling Siri to navigate to Watford while she effortlessly plays tunes on demand while reading out my emails. In reality, Spotify crashes, the phone overheats (I've got iphone 6), the maps then freeze, Siri doesn't repond, I have to turn off the phone and reboot to cool down, and then when it does all work you find out Siri can only navigate to business addresses so you'd better remember the fish and chip shop near your aunties otherwise you've had it (and no, you can't input via your head unit), and emails can't be read out unless you get your phone and unlock it while driving. Special. That aside, the head unit is pretty good. Sound and EQ settings solid, screen is bright and responsive (resistive rather than capacitive but not a big deal). Menu makes sense although remember Carplay is an app within the main menu which can be a little confusing. However, they've thought it through and you can access important features without shutting Carplay which is useful. Volume wheel is useful and rare these days. What's not to like?- sticking connectors on the front isn't as neat as trailing them through the back- you can't turn off inputs, so it'll cycle through AUX for eg and unconnected bluetooth connections rather than what's 'live'- no Siri over bluetooth. None. My £50 Pioneer stereo can do this, no excuse. Could be fixed by a firmware update but hasn't been in 2 years so not holding my breath- the tuner doesn't remember the names of the station in the presets, so but you've got an encyclopedic memory of every frequency of the FM spectrum so not a problem right?- if you've more contacts that just your local and your mum, the phone page takes over 30 seconds to load names.- nag screen every time you start.Installation is tricky on account of needing brake wires, light settings (for auto-dim) and trailing mic through the pillars. You will need special harness and likely a fascia to make it look vaguely OEM, plus separate steering wheel control harness if you have 'em.Finally if you want loads more reviews of this unit, just look for AX100 and discount any moans about speed or crashes; the interface is identical, speedy and seems relatively robust if your iphone hasn't fried its insides.Overall, no regrets, pleased I upgraded but slightly irked Apple has let substandard software out into the wild. I still reckon this model beats similar Pioneer and Kenwood options unless you're after DAB.

Don’t bother!
Very very bad head unit. Multiple issues and less than a year later car play doesn’t work anymore

Buyer beware!
Mixed review, great but of kit, but clearly the item I received was second hand or ex demo. Product has a small scratch on the screen and was dirty and dusty. No instructions received with product. Disappointed that this was not mentioned in product description
