Broke on my second ride
The rear derailer snapped (the metal actually broke off) on my second ride. I had my Trek for 10 years, just got this new Schwinn, lasted 2 days.I called the support line, I was greeted by a very rude customer service person who did not even say anything like "sorry to hear you had a problem with your purchase," and immediately let me know that it must have been something I did. Funny, I rode my Trek bike on these same Maine roads for a decade, without a problem, and 2 rides in to the Schwinn it broke down.

See geometry chart before buying (Schwinn website only)
The sizes in item description are wrong. I ended up buying and returning the XL and replacing it with M. Actual top tube effective measurements are: 51cm XS, 53cm S, 55cm M, 57cm L, 59cm XL. Otherwise, 1000km in: very comfortable, including frame geometry, saddle and bars. 105 drivetrain is indeed full and a great compromise of price and value. It would be hard to build your own with this quality under this price tag. Tires are great (no punctures yet) and wheels are light. It's not the top of the line racer, but what is at 10th of the price?

Great value components but details are unsatisfactory and negligent

I have been riding this bike for a week here are my thoughts for it.I bought this bike because it carries Shimano 105 component group and has most of the features I wanted; however, there are a couple of issues I have to point out.The main issue is related to its wheels. It carries Alexrim r500, a knockoff of Shimano wheelset rs501.1. The rear wheel hub has a mudguard that is constantly rubbing the cassette. It not only increases the resistance of the rear wheel,(you can feel this especially when you are in highest gear or go downhill) but also create some kind of weary noise. No matter how I adjust the mudguard this issue cannot be resolved. (see picture 1)2. The front-wheel also has some strange noises when you rotate it freely, and I cannot determine the source of the noise.3. The rear-wheel hub's resistance is quite extreme. When I spin the cassette it feels very rigid. eg. when I take off the rear wheel to spin the cassette, the cassette only spins for a quarter to half revolution, compared to my old bike which spins 10 revolutions. I tried to lubricate the wheel hub but with no effect. (see video 2)4. Although this bike has internal cable management, the cockpit's cable management is the worst I ever have seen.(see picture 3)The only upside of this bike it carries Shimano 105 complete groupset, quite reliable and versatile. If you like a fitness bike constantly turn itself to high resistance and pushing your limit, this is a bike for you.P.S. Please change the wheelsets in the future. Shimano rs501 only retails around 100 dollars.Enjoy your ride!

A good bike for an excellent price.
Great bike, at this price point. You will be hard pressed to find it's equal. I got mine on sale for $1058.00 the weekend before prime day. So keep an eye out and you could end up with an even better deal with extra cash in your pocket. Retail price is 1399.99. It comes with a limited lifetime warranty on the frame just like trek and the other big name brands. It weighs in at 18.5 lbs. It has an aluminum seat post, stem handle bars, wheels and large peddles with straps. Replacing these with carbon fiber parts and swapping the peddles will reduce the weight. Frame and fork are carbon fiber with a semi areo design. Standard 2 mounts for water bottles. For sizing I'm 6'-1" and using the medium. The bar sits higher than expected on these. Another person already covered the inseam sizing so I won't recount it here.Shimono 105 kit minus the peddles. They include some other brands stap in peddle you will want to replace right away.Amazon shipped this to my local bike shop and they built it for free and did a basic fit for free. A nice perk for my local shop and I get the free service as if I had purchased it in store. Just make sure to select that option as it is a separate choice from the bike itself.

Great Potential, but too many issues from the start
I purchased the fastback 1 as an upgrade to the schwinn phocus 1600 which had its own set of issues, but that bike was not even $350 when I got it so I expected some problems given that the most of the parts were stock parts and were not designed to go together. Fast forward to this purchase, I was impressed with the quality of shipping and how well the bike came packaged. It was simple to put together for someone who has knowledge on road bicycles. Looked great, minimal blemishes but that was not a concern. I was especially impressed with the wheelset on this bike. Better quality than I expected. It does have a fairly relaxed geometry so if you are looking for a more aggressive positioned bike you should either look elsewhere, or like me, plan on upgrading the stem, seatpost, headset spacers, etc. The full Shimano 105 groupset does not disappoint and I was thrilled to be able to get a bike for under 800 with those components. I will be honest, I was looking for a bargain on my upgrade purchase and this fit the bill, so I cannot complain too much. The reason I have to give this such a low rating is due to the lack of quality for the price point. Regardless of what the competitors charge, this price demands excellent quality and that is not what I have seen thus far. Both of the derailleurs were nearly impossible to get right and the cables were not in good shape. I eventually got it in the right place but it was a nightmare. The big issue now is that I began to notice a subtle clicking sound upon each revolution of the pedals while riding but I could not imitate it when I had it on a repair stand. I eventually was able to recreate it by leaning the bike in one direction and I believe there is something wrong with the hollowtech bottom bracket. There is no visible functional danger and I could probably replace it myself with the right tools; however, that is not what I expect out of a brand new bike with 120 miles on it. Perhaps they do not check the parts at the factory or it was just a mistake, but I am sorely disappointed with that. This could have been a 5 star review if things were all smooth but I cannot reward Schwinn with that, unfortunately. I anticipate fixing it all up myself which won't be terribly expensive, but I do not think this should be happening. My advice to other shoppers looking at this model: I would say go for it because you will probably not run into these issue, I think I might just have been unlucky; however, try to get it at the best deal possible, that way you have some spared cash for repairs just in case.
