RL-SPRK150 115/230 Volt, 1.5 HP, 71 GPM Cast Iron Sprinkler/Irrigation Pump with Thermoplastic Impeller, Red, 97101501

Ordered for my wash all parts cabinet. Much quieter than my old pump, more pressure too. I did have to get a 2 inch to 1.5 reducer for the inlet at HD. Instructions didn't mention wiring the L1 L2 but I got it figured out for 115v

The pump performs perfectly. It's very quiet. It's made out of quality material. You won't find a better price.

I am pretty certain this was a pre owned or previously returned pump. We have three other red lions on our ranch and they have been flawless. This pump was installed without problems for another pasture. It was wired for 230 volt and was good to go. Flipped on the circuit breaker and almost immediately it seized up and the overload protection tripped. I pulled it and was getting ready to return it ( which I really don't want to do) and thought to pull the impeller housing for a look. Sure enough, it was loose with the threads on the impeller stripped causing it to free spin and seize up. A simple replacement impeller would probably solve the problem but I am having a tough time getting a hold of the selling party through the Amazon platform. Hopefully someone who can do something about this will read this review and send a replacement impeller before the return window expires. These have been great pumps and the only reason this would have happened is a customer return or something like that.

The pump was easy to install and prime. The box was very poor and was in pieces when I received the pump. The customer service was very responsive and supportive. It was well built and shows no signs of failure.

I replaced a shallow well pump using this pump, we use it for watering our yard. I have been pleased with the design, I purchased the version with brass impellers, and I’m glad I did, my considerations were based upon the amount of residual sand in the well every spring, although I filter the water before going to the yard, it still has to pass through the pump. I’m very pleased with the pressure, and the build quality!

Top quality cast iron pump will last for YEARS!

So far I’ve had no problems it a quiet pump and pushes 44 psi and does exactly what was advertised

Tom McGregor speaking. You must first read the instructions carefully and follow the installations in order. If the pump doesn’t start check your motor terminal connection points. That all water piping connections to the pump are water tight. Follow exactly the pump priming procedures. If the motor doesn’t preform contact red lion service Center. Helpful. I’m
