Gets an A+ so far and after several months
Time to do initial review. (Go to bottom to see update - Still A++) . . . So far A+. The refrigerator works well and seems to be very quiet and well insulated. I am using it in a difficult environment with outside Air Temps up around 100 degrees F and using it in un-air conditioned camper area where the temp rises above ambient. It holds temp well when used in the 35 degree range. I do not ask it to pump down at those temps. Tried it once and got a safety compressor shutdown temp error code. My Bad! Now, I pump it down in the house and then use it in the vehicle. I have used it three times now. Once was a short trial and two other times where it ran for a day or two. Time will tell about reliability and I will report back. The unit is used just a periodically, so no news is probably good news. To say the least, I am very pleased. The factory support is just an email away and very prompt and effective. They have been a big fast help with a couple of questions and one need. This month I ordered the matching insulated cover for this refrigerator. Major happy with it. Great quality obvious, Seriously well made and once installed, I ran a functional test of the fridge - only this time using an infrared thermometer. The box pumped down from ambient (81 degrees F) to the set point of 39 degrees F in just under a half hour. (Insulated cover installed and in MAX mode - no internal food load). It over shot down to 33 degrees. At this point, a IR scan of the outer cover revealed that the top was just 2 degrees below ambient and the sides right down by the "freezer section" were only a few degrees colder. This is seriously impressive. But then it got better. After an hour, and I had switched it to ECON mode, the box was at set point and the cover measured right at ambient. In other words, there was almost NO thermal loss. I continue to be impressed and happy camper....literally. The cover - and the refer - are well worth the money.

This is a piece of junk!
Bought this cooler for a camping trip. It worked on AC power on delivery, but would not work on my truck battery due to low voltage, unless the truck was running. After driving to a hotel on the first day (before arriving at the camping site), it started sounding like an air compressor. My wife called it the "motorcycle". So what happened?- The fan/condenser is attached to the base on a bracket that is held in place by 2 sheet metal screws. One dropped off and now the fan is loose, free to vibrate.- The fan is fastened to the condenser via 2 screws and 2 zip ties (???!!!). One screw backed off and so the fan can vibrate independent of the condenser (that is also free to rattle since it is held in place by a single sheet metal screw).- One of the fan blades broke off. Maybe because the loose mounting screw fell into it. Don't know, but now the fan is unbalanced and vibrates that much more.Other quality/design issues...- The power cable has a 90degree plug that extends outside the side of cooler. Very little jostling of it is enough for the power to become disconnected. because it is exposed it take special care to pack it so that nothing can touch the plug.- The hinges can be reconfigured to open up "long ways" (hinges at the short end of the lid). These hinges are screwed into nuts that are molded into the plastic rim. The nuts then release from the plastic and cannot be screwed on tightly.- One hinge screw was replaced with a coarse screw at the factory (because the nut couldn't be found??) and totally deformed the plastic where it was screwed in.- The lid cannot be latched. It is held in place by gravity. Go over a bump and it will flop open. Go down a dirt road and your cooler will accumulate grit.- And the reason the refrigerator doesn't work when the engine isn't running is because the voltage sensor is completely out of calibration. I measured 12.5V at the source (with a high quality DMM) while the refrigerator reported 11.8V. To get around this I've placed it on "low" battery protection. So bottom line is that this thing will probably work inside a car or going to the park, but you are definitely getting something less than a premium product. It does get cold and stay cold (provided the power connector doesn't wiggle free).

Nice fridge. I love mine.
I bought one somewhere around a year ago. And it works great. The only problem I have with it is with the internal mounting of the compressor. If I'm moving when the compressor fires up, there is a loud rattling for a few seconds. I haven't taken it apart yet to see where the rattling is coming from, but I suspect that one of the refrigerant lines is too close to another component and is rattling against it. Other than the occasional rattling when the compressor fires up, it's working great. It has always kept the internal temperature within a few degrees either way of what I set it to. One of these times I'll have to open the side up and try to find just what it is that is doing the rattling.I have it mounted in a 1-ton camper van, and even with the stiff suspension of the van, and the consequential continuous bumping around that it sees, it has not failed to do what it's supposed to do. My van is also my daily driver, so the refrigerator is being run continuously, for around a year now. I have it running off a set of four group 29 batteries being charged by a solar system. The draw on the batteries is minimal once the refrigerator has cooled down to whatever temp it is set at.In my experience, I would have no problem recommending this fridge. I knocked off 1 star for the rattling issue on mine, but other than that I'm happy with it.
