Raw Sugar Cane Swizzle Sticks - Pack of 20

Unlike the other reviewers, I purchase these sugar cane sticks for my lovebird. My local pet store used to sell these and later had a sugar cane stick half this length for sale, but they no longer carry either item. My lovebird loves to chew on sugar cane. It's good for his beak and the sugar is an added attraction. I give him one a day and he mangles it. In fact, he so expects this treat at a particular time of the day that he actually stands in the spot in his cage where I attach the sugar cane, waiting for it. He has trained me, I guess. It is true, you must refrigerate this product. I store it in a ziplock bag after opening the package and, since I buy two packages at a time and use one piece a day, they manage to stay fresh until they're gone.

I think of that quote often. If you really want to impress your date & entertain with mojitos it takes planning. If you plan well this is a good value! Keep these cold once opened and they will last for weeks! I recommend putting these in a ziplock after the first night. Depending on how many guest, I also recommend making more than enough simple syrup a day ahead of time so you can refrigerate it so it's too cool to melt your ice which the rum will do. Simple syrup: 50% ratio water/Sugar. Use narrow glasses with lots of ice and your going to be a star! BTW Cruzan Rum works much better for mojitos than the Bacardi as the Bacardi is just to harsh. The sticks tasted old!! The also had much of the outside on them that cannot be chewed. My 10 year old grandson begged me to buy these. He is on a diet and wanted something sweet to chew on. He tasted one and didn't want any more. I also tried but felt the same. Also did not like the outside still on them, they were really too skinny to shave down anymore. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!!!

The package came faster than expected and it’s sealed pretty well. The color however doesn’t look as appealing as it does in the photos. I wish they were individually wrapped so I didn’t have to use them all at once. The cuts and thickness of each stick are a good size and are all pretty much the same size. I can’t wait to try them!

My Dusky Conure Parrot is the user of this product. I used to get him sugarcane sticks from a catalog that specialized in parrots. Then, the catalog no longer carried them. I knew my bird missed them, so I tried on Amazon and found the same product. My bird is now a happy camper. He loves them and has one every day. So, if you have a parrot, big or small, and they use a foot to hold food, and they have a "sweet beak", they all seem to, give it a try.

I ordered these sticks to go into a mojito gift basket I am putting together for a friend. When they arrived they were packaged in a vacuum sealed pouch, but I was very disappointed that there was no label/description/info on or in the packaging. In the Amazon description there are instructions on how to store and use the sticks...(ie soaking them in water and then freezing the unused sticks, good for one year, store out of light etc.) None of this is anywhere in the packaging. This is very inconvenient for me since I was planning on giving them away. How is the basket recipient even supposed to know for sure what they are? I am sure she could figure it out since she drinks mojitos but sugar cane swizzle sticks are not that common for everyone. A label to make them look more professional and give more info would be helpful. It looks like I just sealed them up in my kitchen with a foodsaver. In fact there is not even a "packaged on" date or "use by" date. So I guess I am to assume they are good 1 year from when I received them? I am sure the quality is fine at least according to other reviews but I was just not all that impressed with the labeling.

Use these as cocktail stirrers. They arrived vacuum sealed and fresh. I separated and vacuum sealed into smaller quantities and store in the fridge. Would buy again.
