The depth of the jaws are 1.5" for the C5r and 1.25" for the C4r. The C5r is for pipe and the C4r is for downspouts, but I think you can use either for downspouts. The jaw depth is the only difference. **Q: Does it work on 24 gauge galvanized smoke pipe?** A: Yes, they'd work on the smoke pipe. I've had many different pair over the years. These are good crimpers. **Q: Can I use this on downspouts to add on extra** A: Ive never tried it on downspouts, just on sheet metal pipe. But if the your downspout is circular or oval it should work.
