Very impressed, creates a weatherproof seal, very easy one button programming to register your cats microchips. I was using a manual cat flap previously and got sick of it blowing open in the wind and my cats POUNCING through in the middle of the night and waking me up (we have the cat flap in our bedroom window) The benefits of this is the cat flap stays locked as standard, both my cats have already got used to it, the click did startle them slightly the first couple of times, but they learned entry with no assistance very quickly. First night of use and both my cats were curled up inside by the morning having ventured out numerous times and not once was I woken up like with my old cat flap since the cats have a small wait and cannot leap straight through like maniacs. This is such a huge improvement from my last cat flap in all areas and is genuinely going to improve my quality of sleep which is something I really hadn't even anticipated! Quality is spot on though I did have to Google the manuals for both this and my window adaptor and was a little tricky to fit as could only access one side of my window. But very very impressed. For anyone reading this who cannot find the fitting screws, they are inside the battery compartment!

bought one in June 25 , my cat did at first find it strange , was reluctant to use it, she got better, this year march 26 something strange happened to the cat-flap it stopped opening from outside :-( . contacted Petsafe direct we had a good understanding of the problem and with 3 weeks i had a replacement. :-) the cat-flap does work well , glad we bought it. Good product, double lock good.Our previous one had centre lock, which had a nuisance cat break. Easy to install. Only criticism, delay on locking when cat enters house, if a cat is tailing your cat, the tailer cat can enter, as takes about 7-8 seconds to lock. If your cat is of nervous dispersion, the lock is quite noisy, just to be aware.

As per the title, now had this in use for 5 months with my kitten going in and out at least a dozen times a day, double that when she was younger. INSTALLATION: Surprisingly easy. It comes with a "template" that you stick to the door with guidelines for where to cut the hole. This kept falling off or snagging on the saw. I found it easier to simply draw a line around the inside of the part that goes on the exterior side of the door and followed that. Instructions stated to measure the height of your cat and place the flap accordingly. I didn't. As long as they can reach it, you'll be fine. My door has panels - several inches above the "ideal" height for my, then, smaller kitten. She wasn't bothered. Now, she is almost full sized and it's still a little higher than advised but, given she can jump well over a metre up from the floor if she wants to, a few CMs won't matter. Once cut, the hole was an excellent fit. Very snug. Needed a bit of *gentle* force to coax it into place. This is what you want to minimise wind and potentially water getting through if your door is exposed to rain. A jig-saw is strongly recommended if your door is wooden. Mine is some sort of cheap hardened foam coated with plastic, which is easier and, having no jig-saw, I managed fine with the saw on my Swiss Army Knife. Next, add the exterior plate and screw into place. Don't try to over-tighten the screws as you'll crack the plastic. TEACHING AN UNTRAINED CAT TO USE IT Method - this may take longer depending on your cat and your patience. Day 1: I used a peg to hold the clear plastic door flap open. I tossed a treat through the open cat flap, and kitty gingerly went through. Repeated that several times after which she went back and forth of her own accord. Obviously any Tom (Dick or Harriet) can come in at this time so, if that's an issue, you'll need to police that yourself. Day 2: Released the flap but set to open both ways without requiring the chip to activate the door. This way the kitten got used to pushing the flap to get through. Day 3: This is the harder part. Set the flap so that the chip must be read before it will allow entry from outside. There is a delay then a click before the catch releases. So, the cat needed to learn to stick her head into the "tunnel" then wait for the click before then pushing the flap open. This took a few goes to master. She wasn't bothered by the noise of the release click even when still an otherwise skittish kitten - in fact, I think it helped in the training process. Side Note: you are advised to "register" your cat's chip on the device BEFORE you install it by holding their head in it for several seconds. My confused kitten was having none of that and kept wriggling away with a miffed meow. However, it registered when she hesitantly inched through on her first try. USAGE: My kitten - 6 months old at the time of installation - was going in and out every few minutes, all day long. She wanted to explore the exciting world outside but would get startled by a leaf, her own shadow or whatever and race back in for a fussing before venturing out again. She now stays out longer, but still come back in for a reassuring nuzzle up to a dozen times a day. The click of the flap release is audible from my lounge (two rooms away) with both room doors open. Personally, I am happy with this level of noise. I like that I can hear when she is coming in or going out. Unless you are adjudicating exams or something in the room in which it's installed, it is never so loud as to make me wish it were quieter. Battery life: I installed with Duracell batteries which, despite the frequency of use over 5 months, have yet to need replacing. Other cats: Two other cats, both male, regularly come into my garden and will often hang out with mine - often just sitting close by as if secretly communicating by telepathy. Given the chance, both would happily help themselves to her food--inside, near the cat flap--without objection from my accommodating kitten, but the flap blocks entry for them as intended, so her food is safe. OVERALL VERDICT: Prior to this I had to leave a window open for kitten to go in and out. Not advised in winter so this was a necessity. Now, though warmer, I am still very happy I have this so I'm not unwittingly feeding her friends as well as her. I wouldn't now want to be without it. A full five stars.

I would be very cautious with this cat flap. I had one cat registered for 6 months battery died twice in that time. I have now got kittens and the flap cannot cope with more than 1 cat (I have 3) It just refuses to let them in flashing a red light. After resetting, full rest, hard reset, new packs of the best batteries (according to the bunnies) nothing helps. It will sometimes work for a day or two but having to let my poor older boy in as he was locked out all night is not good enough. I have contacted their customer services twice with no response or aftercare If you go on the actual website I relised quickly it's simmalar to the temu website with the silly spinning wheel discount rate and it asks for alot of details...... Be weary.... it may not last very long. Plenty of other brands at the same cost. Amazon though have agreed a return which is kind but the flap is sealed in so will be a pain to change it.

I wasn’t sure how my cats would take to this, but I need not have worried. They both tried it out before I had finished installing it and are happy that a neighbour’s cat can’t gain access. Fitting was straight forward.

Chat, vraiment très facile à installer et vraiment très bien. Cela fait plusieurs années que nous l’avons et elle n’a pas de signe de faiblesse. Il faut changer les piles régulièrement si vous adapter avec une puce au niveau du cou pour le chat.. mes chats n’ont pas aimé cela car le déclenchement l’fait sursauter lorsqu’ils sont devant. Donc nous avons désactivé, mais la chatière fait toujours son travail. Nous sommes très contente de notre achat. Installer sur une porte de garage

I purchased this product as a replacement for an existing pet door because we were regularly getting raccoons in house (eating pet food and whatever else they could find). Installation was a bit more involved in my case due to different size of the existing cutout in the laundry room door, but this was unrelated to the product itself. I was able to successfully match to our cat's chip, though that did take a little doing; I definitely advise programming before installation (as the instructions suggest) because cats generally don't like being shoved into an opening and help there while the reader reads the chip - easier when they are lying on a bed, etc. The real challenge I had was that the local raccoon population figured out how to get through the door more quickly than my cat. I'm uncertain whether they are able to get their claws under the edge of the door and simply pull it open, but that seems most likely. We are back to locking the laundry room door at night and letting the cat out at 2am when he cries. The product otherwise functions as promised; in our case at least it simply didn't provide the security we were hoping for.

Chatière plutôt facile à installer une fois la découpe réalisée. C'est finalement la découpe de la porte qui reste le plus délicat. Ma découpe étant déjà réalisée puisqu'il s'agissait pour moi d'un changement de chatière, je n'ai eu que de très petits ajustements de découpe à faire. Un petit bémol cependant concernant l'ajustement / correspondance des deux vis lors de la fixation du cadre extérieur et du support intérieur. Je vous conseille de percer un trou un peu plus large dans votre porte pour que les deux vis de fixation du cadre extérieur aient un peu de jeu dans leur course et trouvent plus facilement le système de fixation et de vissage, de l'autre côté de la porte, sur le cadre opposé. Pour ce qui me concerne la reconnaissance de la puce de mes deux chats s'est faite très simplement en approchant de leur tête le cadre non installé . Une autre astuce a consisté à mettre un peu de croquettes dans le tunnel de la chatière pour qu'ils y glissent légèrement leur tête pendant l'opération de programmation. Comme signalé par d'autres utilisateurs, si la sortie du chat vers l'extérieur est similaire au fonctionnement des chatières manuelles, le court tunnel d'entrée et surtout le clic de déverrouillage lors de l'entrée du chat peuvent être déconcertants pour l'animal et ne pas l'inciter à entrer. C'est sans doute d'autant plus dissuasif pour lui que le tunnel d'entrée n'existait pas sur les modèles plus classiques qu'il avait jusque là l'habitude de franchir. C'est pourquoi je vous conseille au départ de laisser la chatière en mode manuel afin que votre chat s'habitue à cette "nouvelle porte" et à son fonctionnement dont le comportement lui semblera rapidement quasiment identique à l'ancienne. Une fois le(s) chat(s) habitué(s), le système électronique pourra être mis en service et remplir enfin la fonction attendue : interdire l'entrée à ce fichu chat du voisin qui vient marquer son territoire, affoler votre chat et vider sa gamelle dès que vous avez le dos tourné , notamment la nuit !! A noter : j'ai testé aussi le système de communication S.A.V (Tchat) sur le site du fabricant et il est efficace, donc n'hésiter pas si vous avez des questions...Par exemple, pour info, la programmation de la puce n'est pas à renouveler après le remplacement des piles de l'appareil, sauf s'il reste sans pile durant plusieurs semaines.
