Customer Oriented Company
This product was purchased to be a chew treat for our dog. Unfortunately, it was larger than we thought. Nature Gnaws, when notified of the problem, refunded the money, told us to give the treats to another owner who could use them, and sent us a bag of smaller treats, no charge. They went above and beyond what they needed to do and were very gracious. The new treats are perfect and we are very pleased with them. I highly recommend Nature Gnaws!!

Great Treat! Dexter Approved!
My pup, Dexter approves! He can be picky about his treats. He doesn't like standard biscuits or Greenies at all. But he was very excited about these! They are a little messy. But Dexter is quick to clean up the crumbles. I didn't notice any smell. So they were not unpleasant at all.

A huge hit with the dogs, but "chew" is not accurate -- they last less than a minute!
I ordered this along with the beef jerky chews. Both have been a huge hit with my dog and another pup we've been housesitting. They must smell great because the dogs get extremely excited when I pull them out, and on several occasions I've walked into the room where I left the bags to find both dogs sitting and staring at them hopefully. My only complaint is that it doesn't seem accurate to call these "chews." They are really more like crunchy treats. My dog is still a puppy and a very gentle chewer; he works on a rawhide for weeks before he can get through it, and beef pizzle sticks the same size as these treats take him days to finish. He downed these in a matter of seconds, though, and so did the visiting dog we're house-sitting for, who is smaller than he is -- in fact, she chomped them down twice as fast as he did. I'd be happy to consider them treats instead of chews, except that they really are very hard and I worry he'll ingest pieces of them too quickly and end up with gut obstruction. Because of that concern, I've been doling them out very sparingly and avoiding giving them to one dog while the other is nearby, which seems to encourage even faster chomping (I think he's scared the other dog will snatch it away before he can finish). By "small dogs" the company must mean "chihuahua puppies" because I can't imagine these functioning as genuine "chews" for any dog bigger than that. Whatever you call them, though, he sure does love them.

I'm glad I got the larger pack
My two dogs think they've died and gone to heaven. These lasted about as long as a large fat crunchy biscuit (my pups are intent chewers but not gulpers, and 37/42 lbs, respectively) and resulted in much floor licking after they were consumed.I recommend feeding on a washable mat because these chews, while not as stinky as canned tripe, still pack quite an aroma. Two thumbs and four dewclaws up...this one's a keeper.UPDATE: These continue to be a favorite in our house. Just to note....for people who say they don't last long. They don't....but they do a great job of cleaning off teeth while being chewed....and that's the reason I buy this sort of thing in the first place. (yes, I also brush daily)

Not very good
Well my dog liked these a lot except for the fact that they lasted about two seconds. Definitely not worth the money for how long they last, and they were a lot smaller than I thought they would be. But the dog did seem to like the taste of them. Would be good for small light chewers

I expected something more like a bullie bone
They did not work well for my small puppies , they ate then to fast and got a upset stomach. I expected something more like a bullie bone. I am returning them since I an afraid to give them to my puppies again.

BREAKS INTO SMALL SHARP PIECES
Nature Gnaws Tripe Twists. When my dogs are chewing on them, they break into small sharp pieces. My Toy Fox Terrier, age 14 yrs, had loose stools with lots of phlegm and some red in it. She goes on a Pooch Pad in the house. Never happened until I fed these. My German Spitz, age 8 mos., ate it way too fast, with lots of small sharp pieces also. Not sure about his stools because he goes outside in a very large yard, but he has been gagging and trying to throw up. I am disabled and can't follow him around to check his stools and I don't know if he is throwing up outside.

Small dog - no problems for a soft/picky food eater
Hard enough to make Bruce work on it. But soft enough to cut or break in half. 2-3" is a good size for him. He can eat the 4-5" pieces with no problem. I can even unravel them into the coils! He cannot eat super hard stuff, so this is a good balance of hard but gets chewy after gnawing.Bruce is 6 yo rescue, missing 1 tooth, basically prefers smaller foods and not too hard. He's a 17lb Terrier mix. Picky, bougie. Literally only used to eat Pupperoni a year ago.I've previously gotten a variety pack and he's been able to eat them all. These specific ones don't smell as much, but still smelly enough for Bruce to interest him.:) thanks!
