Lexmark MB2442adwe Monochrome Multifunction Printer with fax scan Copy Interactive Touch Screen Wi-Fi and Air Print Capabilities (36SC720), Grey, 2.1

This is my second Lexmark. First was a smaller color printer, which worked amazing for the 6 years I owned it, and continues to work for the friend I gave it to.I needed a quick-printing black/white printer for a good price, and due to the amazing experience I had with the first one, chose to purchase this one (about 4 years ago).Since then, I have:1) moved 6 times, across the United States from San Diego to Seattle, from Seattle to Orange County CA (4 locations of moves here), back to San Diego, and most recently to Connecticut.2) printed Thousands of pages with no problems3) never once had to call tech support4) never used the cover that came with itIt has been banged around, dropped, had fireplace ash dumped on it, and cats jumping up and laying on it. It continues to function just like it did when it was brand new. NO paperjams, NO black inc lines, and I've done very little to maintain / clean it.Although I DID have to use tech support a few times on my first Lexmark, the color printer, I MUST say it was, for the first time in my life, a good experience.Customer Service is:1) courteous, friendly, verbally articulate and helpful2) willing and able to fix the problem on the spot3) generous to have not ever charged me, even replacing a faulty thing free-of-charge, 3 years after I purchased it4) still the #1 reason I chose to buy another Lexmark.Hands down the BEST printers I've ever owned.

directions are vague

...what all the complaints are about? This printer, once set up for your respective platform, works flawlessly. I have even connected my family's tablets and cell phones. The duplex scanning and scan to email are exactly what we needed. I guess it's a case of "beauty in the eye of the beholder." We've had a great experience with this very fast, capable printer. Wait for a price dip though...it seems to vary considerably on Amazon.

MB2442adwe - worst printer ever! Did you know there is NO driver for OS X 10.15? --an operating system that's been out for a year. Contact tech supporting they'll send you a link for Windows drivers. Hardly a help for Mac users. But the lousy customer service doesn't end there. When I got the printer, the copy function produced light copies--got an prompt automated reply from customer service requesting a handful of documents to be sent to them. I did that-- and got a reply the next day that they hadn't received anything. Did it again and got a reply that my request was closed. From web searches I found a solution ( to their shoddy firmware, another mark against them-- you have to set copies to text to get reasonable darkness on many of these machines). Had another issue, again contacted tech support-- same exact result.. quick automated replies, no recognition of the documents I sent in response, case closed. It's also a total crock that they set toner cartridges to pages used when there is sufficient toner left. I could probably figure out how to over ride it but there will be more satisfaction in hurling it forcefully into the dump. They not only lost me, but as I am in charge of purchasing for my company, so they lost multiple sales. I have ordered every Lexmark product removed as soon as feasible. Do NOT buy this or any Lexmark printer. You will live to regret it.

This device works well in my small office for three users. Starts quickly from sleep, prints and scans fast and clearly. No issues and would purchase again if needed.
