Plus Size Crochet: Fashions That Fit & Flatter

I have now made 2 of the patterns from this book. They aren't very exciting and at least 3 ofthem seem to use the same or a very similar stitch pattern. I am still working out what is plus size about a shawl and a handbag, they seem like filler projects to me. Also I struggled (despite many years crochet experience) to follow the instructions for shaping necklines on 2 designs. I did it my way in the end but the instructions as written were not very clear. It's an OK book, with OK patterns. That is all.

I really liked the idea of this book as I have been looking for crochet patterns for bigger sizes. I am not huge but love loose cardis for lounging around in. I was so disappointed. The patterns are nice but there are two points. The recommended yarn is American and there are no recommended substitutes. I went onto the brand websites to see what the yarns were like to see if I could work out my own substitutions but most of the yarn is discontinued.Just how old is this book.Very very disappointed. Unless you are a whiz crocheted don't order it.

Excellent book of patterns for plus size ladies. I love most of these patterns! Most are easy to crochet some need a little more expertise. I have found that these are easily adapted to appropriate alternative yarns if the suggested yarns are not available.A great find for me and I highly recommend!

I am really enjoying two of these patterns that I am currently working up for myself. Instructions can sometimes be confusing but I have gradually figured out the way they are written and am steadily creating a lovely red sweater. Next project will be in a soft lime green.

Finally a book that does what it says. Excellent patterns good choice for the larger lady wide range of sizing covered and patterns easily manageable. Spiral bound making ease of use when doing a project. A good buy for all crochet lovers.
