That seems like a common complaint. To get around that problem I also ordered a couple boxes of the Camco “Universal Party Light Holders”. I needed two boxes for a 14 foot awning. At $4.95 a box they are cheap and can also be used to hang your part lights! The stakes they give you to go into the ground are a bit flimsy so you might also want to get some better tent stakes. Luckily I have some already. The fabric itself seems well made.
