Electronic Claw Toy Grabber Machine with LED Lights and Toys

Good machine, but NOTE THIS COIN-SLOT FIX.
Although there were many negative reviews complaining that the machine stopped working after a few days, I decided to order it anyway and try my luck. Ours arrived nicely packaged and worked right away. It even came with some starter toys to grab. My kids got several hours of play out of it. It is indeed very loud and needs some dampening cardboard or tape on the underside (can be done inside too).Unfortunately, the next day it stopped working. Inserting more coins would not activate it. I tried replacing batteries, but no luck.Although I could simply send it back, I figured it's a trivial product...can't be that complicated, so I decided to open it and check for loose connections. What I found is that the coin slot has a somewhat error-prone design in that it can get stuck thinking there is a coin the whole time. In other words, the circuit is constantly closed instead of momentarily opened-closed-opened as the coin falls through. The way it works is there are a pair of thin metal strips that touch when the coin passes. That closes the circuit momentarily and starts the game. When the coin is inserted, it pushes against a red plastic slot guide that in turn pushes the strips together. In this case, the slot guide was stuck holding the strips together. You cannot see this from the outside, so it was not obvious that it was stuck. I think it could be unstuck with a light tap on the coin slot, but I simply loosened the screws from inside so it moves a little more freely.Attached are pictures showing the inside and a close-up of the coin mechanism. You can see the metal strips touching when the coin passes.I suspect many of the reviews complaining that it stopped working after a brief time are due to this coin mechanism getting stuck, which is unfortunate as it's a simple fix. I hope this review helps!

Junk!
I would give this item 0 stars if possible. My 7 year old used his giftcard for this item. After much research, we thought that paying an additional almost 12.00 for the prizes was a good idea. NOT. The toys probably don't even come to 1.00 much less an additional 12.00 ish dollars compared to the empty machines. Also, this machine came dirty, and broken. The shipping box was fine, so this happened prior to shipping. Not sure who at Amazon fulfillment thought it was a good idea to send a toy that was completely cracked through. Total and complete junk! Do yourself a favor and find a different one, or a different company all together.

Very cheaply made
This was to replace a Grabber my teacher friend had at school, but had stopped working. I took it home to work on it, but it was so poorly made, it was simpler to order another one. Received it, & as others have mentioned, the coin slot mechanism quit working. When I got that working, the mechanism that transports the Grabber bucket would move front to back OK, but left & right, it would make a loud noise while jerkingly moving. I think I could fix it, but the more I thought about it, I realized it made no sense to fix something that didn't work the first time I tried it, & it made more sense to return it.But, since it was sold by a third party, but thru Amazon, they said I would have to order another one from the third party, but once again, through Amazon. Problem being, it had increased $5 in price. But, as the result of a chat with Amazon, they agreed to refund the entire new price. In conclusion, this Grabber is very poorly designed & is extremely fragile, & not suitable for the abuse it gets in a classroom. Not in a home either, for that matter. But, what might you expect for a price of around $45 to $50?Later: I got the replacement Grabber yesterday, & guess what? It was not new, & the grabber bucket would not open when descending. I removed the assembly that contains the bucket, & did some "adjusting", & now it works, for the time being.I assume since so many customers have problems & return the Grabber, the company just repairs (or simply "adjusts") them & sends them out as "new" to another unsuspecting customer. This is perhaps the most fragile product I have ever seen that is expressly for children, & you will be very lucky if it works for more than a few times.

Hours of fun for amy five year old.
My granddaughter loves this and it is still working a month later. She discovered you just can put the coin halfway in and pull it out and it works. This may prevent a clogged up coin slot that others have mentioned. Just do not overfill the toy so the claw has room to drop the prize into the hole.

Mhard to remove plastic inside. And claw does not work
I was so excited to gove this to my 7 year old son for v-day (which is today)I opened it and tried it while video recording (the ones with less than 4 stars I tend record unboxing)Forst of all, the plastic wrapping of the claw is so hrd to get out. It’s not like the entire machine can come off. You have to stick you fibners in the whole on the top to get it removed and it’s Ridiculous!!!Also the MUSIC!! Gosh circus music is so darn ANNOYING!Last the MAIN reason i’m returning this is because the claw is suppose to open and close but this cheap product does not want to close it’s claws to grab things.BAD so 3 stars. But if the music can be turned off or some upgrades than I wouldn’t mind spending $45+ on this. But this is worth maybe $15?

Good Value... Lots of FUN for the $$$
My kid got the amazon open and ordered this claw machine without our consent (FU Buy-It Now lol). Did not know it was coming until I got an email advising the order would be delivered tomorrow. Instead of returning it we decided to keep it however, and it has been a good decision. The claw machine was on sale and has provided fun for kids 2-6 years old so far. It came with balls filled with tiny dinosaurs, which are a choking hazard for little kids. We have been re-filling the balls that came with it with candy instead. We have also been adding Grossery Gang toys, the claw picks them up very well. Great value for the money.
