I noted in my review of "Dexter Original Sin" that there is a trend for a few years now to make the lead character a thoroughly bad fellow. "Tulsa..." is a prime example. Stallone as Mafia Capo Dwight Manfredi after serving an unjust prison semtence for 25! years is exiled by his Mafia "family" to Tulsa. Here he gathers his gang and takes over most of the illegal goings on - That is the plot very basically. Extremly violent in places, Sly kills an awful lot people (some needed it I suppose) and duffs up quite a few too (I said he was a bad fellow) but with some witty, pithy dialogue and Stallone's serious presence, make the violence, which has to shown I suppose - bearable. A huge amount of swearing (again to be expected), the plot twists and turns and delivers the goods. The casting is excellent. I must admit apart from Sly and the unlikeable Dana Delaney I was unfamiliar with everyone, but it did not matter a bit as everyone fitted their roles like well worn gloves. Only 9 episodes, but well worth getting if you aren't fazed by the swearing and extreme violence. Good subtitles and plenty of extras. Season 2 arrived today (and my wife loves it!!!)
