Excellent dance/trance mix.
This is a great dance/trance mix that doesn't quite get 5 stars because there are a handful of tracks on CD1 that let it down. From playing both CD's right through, I would say CD1 is more soft trance and some of the tracks are very, very short, it seems they are just getting going and then it changes to the next track. CD2 really brings it home though, it is full on trance and melodic. Pump up the volume on CD2 on a Friday/Saturday night and you will not be disappointed.

PvD back to his best
For me his best album will always be Vorsprung Dyk Technic just because I had never heard anything so banging and yet beautifully trancey and melodic at that time. Feeling that he had slightly gone off the boil recently and been surpassed by the likes of Armin and Above & Beyond, this album came as a pleasant surprise. Trance has moved on and so has PVD since the halcyon days of Vorsprung D Technic and Politics of Dancing 1&2 etc and this album has some great tracks. CD1 is more downtempo with some elctro and deeper, hypnotic and melodic tunes, but still great tracks, the influence of Dj/producers such as Deadmau5 and Kyau&Albert on trance can't be denied and is evident in the track selection. CD2 is full on trance, but just not the formulaic generic stuff that hits all the right buttons but somehow leaves you unsatisfied. Its deeper, more driving but still euphoric, and as always his mixing is absolutely outstanding. Dont believe the naysayers in earlier reveiws; I haven't bought a Cream mix for years but this is well worth it. If this is a selection of what was being played on Trance nights such as in Amnesia Ibiza recently, I wish I'd been there dancing till they dragged me out of the club!

Surprisingly excellent
It's been a few years since I've bothered with Cream mix CDs, as in my opinion there's been a fair few duds along the way. This, however, is not one of them. PvD delivers two absolutely stonking mixes, which for me do almost a good a job of capturing the spirit of the island as Tiesto's In Search of Sunrise 6. If you're expecting wall-to-wall trance, then the first disc is likely to disappoint you. Ibiza's not just about Trance though, so if you can open your mind a little you'll find a selection of excellent tracks, all mixed with PvD's usual flair. The second disc is more trancey, but still retains that balearic feel. Over all, this is definitely one of my favourite compilations this year, and for the price you can't go wrong.

Van Dyk again has not let us down
Having been a fan of Paul's since 1996 I have never been disapointed by either his albums or live sets and this album is another AMASIN addition to the list. His 'In Between' album had the introduction of electro into his work and this album is very simmilar although he does resort back to his heavy trance, which we love him for, in areas. All in all this album is fantastic and I recommed it very much! especially if you have seen him in Cream in Ibiza cause it only brings back very happy memories!

Choice selection
PVD is the king of trance but this CD is one of a varied choice of tunes that will not disappoint! Bit of Electro a bit of Funk and of course trance! This has to be my fav cd so far.

I totally agree with tom and others review. when i first got this CD i kinda did not enjoy it much. CD one beginning and end was nice i was all lost in between. CD 2 started well + Kuff dam track was nice track 6 and 7 were very powerful too. so i got stuck to cd 2. The initial impression for me was that its not as good as any other PVD albums like reflections, out there , in-between, POD vol2 etc.. . but later after listening to it over sometime i realized the new style and melody in it and the tracks were beautifully mixed plus CD 2 gives a very powerful beats and CD 1 has a lovely house type transition of tracks which now i love the most. it took little bit time to accept the change but both CD's are excellent and nice compilation by PVD + the more you listen to them the more you would want to listen them again. Now i am eagerly waiting for the next one. Regards Upraj SIngh

This is new Paul van Dyk. What I like about this artist is that each of his cd mix compilations is different and great at the same time. For those who know The Politics of Dancing, The Politics of Danicng 2 be ready for new PvD! Cream Ibiza Paul van Dyk is mixture of trance, house, and dance. When I first listened to CD #1 it remind me of afterhours, but it has a lot of well mixed house tracks + some trance tracks and it is very energetic. You could definitelly feel there atmosphere of this world famous club/island. CD # 2 is what you expect from this artist. Those who have seen him life know what I'm talking about...:)! It's trance and especially last 8-10 tracks are sick! Knowing that PvD is not a type of artist who would make CD's just for number and $ you would really enjoy it. This is a master, who always will surprise every fan of electronic music in a good way of course!

I use this music for walking. It is disco with an up fast enough beat that allows me to set a pace of a 15min mile. probably good for exercising in placing stepping. Fun to listen to. It is 97% music only & nothing slow on any of the sound tracks.

Great tracks, great artists. Couldn't have asked for a better cd from Paul van Dyk. Just wish some tracks were a little longer. But not serious :)
