How powerful is the irrigation clamp and can it works well?

My experience is they clamp so tightly that they can be a little tricky to install at first until you learn how. But they make a huge difference in keeping the tubing in place. I have not been able to pull the tubing back off after it has been installed (unless I open the clamp again).

Where is this pipe clamp better than plastic clamps?

That is a good question. I don't know that it is better than plastic clamps, but they sure are easy to work with. I used some needle nosed plyers to put them on. They were easy and quick. The one time that I squeezed the ends too much and made it not fit tightly, I was able to correct it by squeezing the ring in the middle. Whereas, plastic would have broken.
