Not sure about the double sided question but both sides are identical smooth surface if that’s what you are asking. **Q: What can you cut this with?** A: As the listing description states. you can cut using a laser, tablesaw, jigsaw, drill, router, or bandsaw. I'm sure you are not limited to only these tools. A much simpler tool is probably enough to cut it. Perhaps other users may contribute to the kind of tools they use. **Q: Can I use this to protect the top of a small night table? Are the edges smooth?** A: The edges (sides) are nicely finished, but they do meet the top and bottom surfaces at a hard "edge" if that's what you mean. The edges and corners are not rounded over. Just be aware that acrylic isn't very scratch-resistant, so if scratches are likely to bother you, you might consider looking for a piece of tempered glass instead. **Q: Can this be bent if heated or will it just melt?** A: I bought the red acrylic sheet and it formed perfectly to the shape I needed by heating with a heat gun. Clean, no scratches. Packed well ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good value, well packaged, cuts easily *by C***E on December 16, 2020* I bought the 1/4" tinted plexi, and it was perfectly cut and packaged. I shaped it with a wood cutting blade (slowly), and it cut easily with no shards or melted edges.....somehow. I then filed the edges to a rounded shape, no problem. I drilled the mounting holes with actual plexiglass drill bits, but possibly could have gotten away with using regular twist drill bits in a drill press (sometimes they can grab and split plexiglass.
