In this, the second of the Tintin books, the young reporter travels to Africa, unearthing a criminal diamond smuggling operation run by the American gangster Al Capone (who he will meet again in Tintin in America). Tintin au Congo was first published in book form in French in 1931. This translation by Leslie Lonsdale-Cooper and Michael Turner, the original Tintin translators, includes a fascinating foreword describing the publication history of Tintin's African adventure and placing it in its historical context. In his portrayal of the Belgian Congo, the young Hergรฉ reflects the colonial attitudes of the time.. he depicted the African people according to the bourgeois, paternalistic stereotypes of the period - an interpretation that some of today's readers may find offensive. Review: Speedy and high quality delivery + a must have for all Tintin readers - Delivered in excellent quality before the given time. A must have for all Tintin lovers. You'll definitely love it. Collector's edition
It's almost a dream come true. This particular book is not easily available due to it's controversial content. Got this luckily during the Great Indian Sale. I've got 2016 edition printed in Romania.

Rekommenderas starkt!

Good quality and hardcover
The book was everything (and more) than I expected it to be. Due to the controversial colonial attitude the story portrays, availability of this book is limited, so if you want to complete your collection, I suggest in doing so soon before it is fazed out.

Simple Storyline
The storyline was somehow simple and at some points unbelievable compared to the later series.
