Strike Back - Legacy (Series 5) [DVD]

In this fifth and final instalment section 20 gets called in when a diplomats daughter gets kidnapped, but it’s never that simple, for there are much bigger issues and plots behind it all. The big question is, who –if any, will survive the ordeal?This really is a bit of flannel for it’s only purpose is to act as ‘closure’ for all the characters that had been introduced in series 1-4, explaining what they’ve been up to since and are doing now. Sure, the plot holes and procedures are way out of wack in this, but it’s tying up the loose ends. That’s not to say it isn’t good, the pace is fast, the action relentless and well, there are the usual superfluous sex scenes to break it all up.The three disc set only offers play all, episode selection and subtitles on/off. Rated 18 there is the usual violence, swearing [not that much considering] and the usual soft core porn scene [ep 3 I think] that the franchise always seems to drop in. You don’t need to have seen the others, but it does help for some of the humour. If you’ve followed the series then this is worth getting, but it is the weakest [script and continuity wise] but still pulls a grudging ***** for its fast paced action.

I really can't decide who my favourite actress is. It used to be Susan Sarandon, but seeing Michelle Yeoh's performance in Strike Back really took me by storm. I just loved her in the role of arch villainess - a bank robber, a cheater on her husband, and a killer with class! The only disappointing bit was at the very end, when Sir Charles Ridley (played by James Wilby) didn't get the end he deserved. The most satisfactory end I'd hoped for, for him, would have been similar to that seen in the last minutes of the "Wild Geese".

As with all the series I have watched its got good plots good acting effects and great locations.If I did want to be slightly picky about all of the Strike Bak series it is this. In shooting sequences obviously people and places and things get destroyed.However I do find it rather annoying when a jeep or a motorcyclist can not be shot at without being hit when before hand individuals are killed at random so easily. I realise that sometimes this is done to extend a scene so I do try and bite my tongue.That said do watch it as its a series I am glad to have viewed

Superb series. Action all the way through and with famous actors in it. Loads of stuff going on so you won't get bored. Gutted they finished it up. But worth the watch. If you like army action, then this is for you. If you don't then try it. It's English and American. So for us British, a really good action show with us for a change.

Can't say how sad I am that there will not be any more, have loved the action, storylines and just about everything. Well yes it is a beefcake series and lots to see for both males & females. I will be watching this series over & over again

Very good. Each series got better. Storylines less dependent on sex.
