Excellent
Another excellent from Twomorrows, with all information based on the spoken word / articles etc said at the time and then placed together to form a coherent timeline and offering some understanding to the creation of a number of the comics of the 60s and beyond by Jack Kirby, Romita, Wally Wood, Steve Ditko and Stan Lee. Guess this is about as comprehensive as it is ever going to be about the background to the development of Galactus, Surfer, Black Panther, FF themselves and many more as well as details of copyrights, disagreements, Marvel method, lettering, inking, resignations, etc. The book also includes many sketches, original pages, documents of the time, etc. Totally recommended.

Excellent, and thorough ..but unbelievably biased version of Marvel's seminal history
This is a fascinating and we'll researched book, giving fantastic behind the scenes access to the formative years of Marvel Comics. As such, it's required reading for anyone who loves the medium or the history of Marvel. Unusual quotes, preliminary artwork, and classic examples of work make this a must have. With one proviso. This is NOT a fair or unbiased narrative. Morrow is a Kirby fan, and boy does it show! Lee is undermined and criticised throughout. His motives are continually impugned, to the point where the book itself suffers. I grew more and irritated by the tone.Worth reading. But just take the remarks about Lee with a pinch of salt. Judge them by their work, and their own words. Both stand tall and proud.
