Loving this as good as our old Scotsman……
I bought this to replace our old Scotsman icemaker that bit the dust after 11 years. The Scotsman we had before that lasted about the same amount of time after a repair to keep it going. A new Scotsman was going to cost nearly $3k! This Max Ice Maker was a third of the price, so I figured I could replace it 3 times over the next 10 years and be no worse off in cost.I’m really happy with the Max. It looks nice in our bar area and it matches the stainless on the sink and mini-fridge. The ice it makes is a lot like the shape of store-bought bagged ice. This thing is the boss when it comes to cranking out ice. It had the bin filled in a matter of hours and it keeps up with ice making very efficiently. The ice comes out in large square blocks, but when you grab the scoop to get some ice, the ice breaks into small squares almost at the touch.Ive had this ice maker in operation for about 3 months now and I couldn’t be more pleased.

Good Value for the Money - Has Its Hiccups
I am replacing our old one with the exact model number. This one comes with a plastic ice scoop instead of the metal one the old one came with. The old one had trouble with making one solid block of ice, something to do with the coils during the ice drop cycle. I am experiencing the same issue with this one intermittently, but it's not too bad of a problem. It seems that you need to keep the rear of the machine well ventilated which is a problem for this one, being meant to be installed underneath the counter and between the cabinets. That said, the old one lasted for almost 6 years; I think I worked that out to a little over $14/month for the convenience which is better than the roughly $50 a week we were spending.I had issues with shipping and didn't get this for a month after the delivery date. The shipper used a third-party shipping service.

a good produce
Well, it was a challenge. We had to have three of these delivered because each one was damaged during shipping. We had heard good things about this ice maker and really wanted it. They were responsive and very good at communicating with me. I hope they start to ship their ice machines like they did the third time. It was perfect. The only thing that I wish was different, is minor, but I was hoping the ice cubes would be the pretty, clear ice cubes. these aren't, but that's ok. the ice machine is working very well, and we love it!

This is the best value I have found in stand-alone ice machines!
I needed to replace a U-Line under counter ice machine, and I looked all over for the best value in a replacement. So many of the lower-cost options have cheap plastic compression fitting water inputs. The MAXX ICE MIM50P uses a standard ice machine water line with 1/4" threaded fitting. The drain pump connects to high-quality flex tubing. The stainless front door looks great, and the components of this machine are well-built. Customer service is outstanding...we received a unit that was in perfect condition, but the bin-full sensor was not working properly. The service technician answered on a Friday night at 6:30 and I had a new system delivered on Tuesday! I love this ice machine. It's as quiet as the U-Line system it replaced that was 3 times more expensive. The removable ice bin is also a big plus that the U-Line did not have.

Multiple Freon leaks
Bought unit and it sat in garage in box for a year due to remodel delay. Hooked it up but no ice. Had independent technician troubleshoot it and found multiple Freon leaks. Can’t make ice with internal temperature at 65 degrees. Warranty expired before a single cube was made. Money down the drain. Warranty expiration not their fault but defective unit is. Should never have left the factory with leaks.

Works Well
Purchased this is a replacement for my motel. The old Maxx Ice lasted a fair number of years. The only difference between the new and old is the new has a slightly larger daily ice production, as well as an internal pump for the drain.Just remember these machines do not break the sheets of ice up...they reject in a rectangular block and then these sheets must be broken up manually....not a deal-breaker, but something to keep in mind.

Makes sheets of ice that don't break into cubes
If you want a machine that makes sheets of ice that don't break into cubes, this is the product for you. I would go with one of the cheaper models that functions in the same way. I previously had a Kitchenaid model which had heated wires that cut the ice as it dropped and it made perfect ice. At least half the cubes aren't fully formed when it drops the sheet into the bin.
