Isolate It: Sorbothane Vibration Isolation Circular Disc Pad 0.5" Thick 1.5" Dia. 30 Duro with 3M PSA - 4 Pack

I have to admit that I'm more likely to write reviews when my experience is negative, but in this case the result was so positive that I had to share it.First off, I'm an 'experienced' audiophile of many years, and my tastes are fairly diverse, from heavy rock to classical, from jazz/blues to R&B, alternative rock, etc. I prefer sound reproduction that is detailed and accurate, as opposed to heavy and thumping.My problem was that ever since we put in wood flooring, I could not get a suitable setup for my subwoofer (HSU Research VTF-2 MK3). If I turned up the bass to where it should be, the sound got muddy, and if I turned it down it just sounded flat. I tried a lot of arrangements of crossover frequency and levels, but was never satisfied.I was considering spiked feet as that is what I've used for speakers in the past. My experience with sorbothane feet was primarily for mechanical electronics (phonograph, CD player, RAID arrays, etc). Instead, I purchased these isolation feet, being diligent in ensuring I had the right size and durometer for my sub, and could not be more happy. The bass now has the clean sound and accuracy I'd expect, without being overbearing or muddy.Not all setups are likely to need these, but I will certainly consider them in the future anytime I have a speaker sitting on a hard surface. You should too.

I realized maybe I was having issues with a neighbor due to bass transmission through the floor and walls rather than actual volume. Harmon Kardon Onyx speakers put how really good bass for a single bluetooth speaker. These pads helped the problem. I cant feel my entire apartment vibrate and bass under my feet like I use to, which is sort of a bummer, but that is what these pads are for. They are a little sticky, which is not a problem. I assume that is to hold everything in place.

Used as vibration dampening for a laboratory vortex mixer, worked very well but very soft and sticky. Keeps everything stable and prevents vortex mixer from “walking” off bench at high speeds.

I live on the second floor of an old apartment building with thin walls and floors. I like my home theater sub, but my neighbors don't. Sorbothane keeps everyone happy!

These 1/2" isolators did a great job for my Sunfire subwoofer, which, with its 2,700 watt internal amp, shook the floor of my house. It sill shakes my house, but the floor quieted down substantially.

It's Sorbothane. It works as designed. What else needs to be said?
