So far, so good!! I've been battling hot flashes for the last 3+ years (after a hysterectomy) and I've been miserable! The first week I took it, I had just a few moderate hot flashes, enough to spook me, but not enough to bail the new efforts. By the end of the second week, I hardly noticed any hot flashes. I have completed my third week on the Amberen and I'm happy to report that the few hot flashes I've had lately have been quite mild and pass VERY quickly. It is recommended that you take a full 90 days of the Amberen and then go off it to see how long you can go before symptoms return. The friend who told me about it said she was symptom free for over a year. If the symptoms return, they recommend another 90 day course. I like that the IDEA is to get my body back on track so it can regulate itself, and the goal is NOT to have to take the Amberen as a supplement for the rest of your life! Ive had menopause symptoms for 16 years. When the symptoms really kicked in I was in trouble. I’m hot naturally and live in the south. ( heat, humidity) the worst thing was the onset of a hot flash, as it hit my emotional state in a very bad way. They say mood swings but that didn’t begin to explain the sudden change and immediately after that the hot flash started. Night sweats were miserable. Hi, my name is Nancy, I am 50 years old and I lost a hundred bucks on the Amberen program. That my friends, pretty well sums up my review of this program. I DO NOT sleep well, I DO NOT have more energy, I DID NOT stop having what I call power surges (hot flashes) or night sweats, I am STILL cold nearly all of the time, (80 degrees and up and I am happy). And as for weight loss... well my wallet is quite a bit lighter, but that is not what I would call "one of my problem areas." I AM NOT SAYING THIS PRODUCT WILL NOT WORK FOR YOU. I have hypothyroidism and basically my metabolism is in a coma and I was hoping that this would help wake it up. It did not. I am active, I eat right, not a lot of junk (except for shark week. You know ladies, the week "before" when you will eat anything and nearly bite anyone who comes into your space!?!) the mood swings are still, well, lets say that sometimes my mood not only swings but dips and sways and tosses and turns. Basically, I tell my family to not make any eye contact, hand the lady the chocolate and back out of the room slowly. DO NOT MAKE EYE CONTACT AND DO NOT MAKE ANY SUDDEN MOVEMENTS, AS THIS COULD BE INTERPRETED AS A THREAT! Well, unfortunately I am no better off than I was when I started the program. I took the "normal dose" for the first 30 days, did not see any improvement so I bumped it up to the "double dose" as recommended by the included instructions, but still no hope. Again, I am not saying to NOT buy this product, but I just wanted you to be able to make an informed decision. I believe that if these types of products would give both the success stories as well as the unsuccessful study participant's feedback, then we, as ever hopeful folks, can make a better decision on what we hope might work for us. One more thing, the "money back guarantee" is worthless. Do not make a purchase based on those 3 little words. It is only a 30-day guarantee, but the enclosed pamphlet says to give the product at least 4 weeks to work. How do they get away with this? Well if you do the math, 4 weeks does not 30 days make. Other than the 3 little word phrase "I love you," basically the rest of the 3 little word phrases should be seen as a caution, i.e., "batteries not included," "to be continued," "I'll call you," "money back guarantee," etc. Good luck in your quest and I wish you much success. These symptoms will not kill us, as they have been ongoing for centuries now. However, my recommendation is to not let these symptoms define you. Fan when necessary, layer clothes as needed, change your sheets regularly, eat a piece and not a pound of chocolate or what ever works for you when needed, and please try your best to not "verbally kill" anyone in your world whom you would like to continue saying the good 3 little word phrase, "I love you."
