Great Card, but Gigabyte's software is terrible
As most will know, the release of the RTX series has been controversial to say the least, with very little increase in raw performance between the 2080 and 1080ti and an untested technology in the form of ray-tracing.I upgraded from a lowly GTX 1060 6GB and the received wisdom that a new 1080ti represented better value wasn’t in fact true, at least in the UK at the time. Most of the 1080ti models that I considered were only moderately cheaper or indeed more expensive than this Gigabyte card (scan.co.uk, Overclockers, here on Amazon etc). Of course, there are deals to be found on the 2nd hand market, but you run the risk of receiving a card that has been mining 24/7. As someone interested in Unity/Unreal development, it seemed like an obvious choice to opt for an RTX given that the price difference wasn’t in fact all that great. The performance of the 2080 is more or less comparable to a 1080ti with only moderate gains in some circumstances, so it’s certainly not worth the upgrade for anyone running a high-end 10 series card. For those upgrading from a much less powerful model like me though, it seems like a sensible choice at this point. This particular card is well built, runs fairly quietly and cool (with no coil whine that I can hear) and has more neutral styling compared to previous Gigabyte cards. It handles VR beautifully with super-sampling set high, and the scope of my creative GPU work has virtually doubled. It's a true dual-slot card and isn't particularly long, relatively speaking. One thing to note is that it doesn't ship with a DVI adapter, so you'd need to buy that separately if you're using an older monitor. Now to Gigabyte's software, which is utterly terrible. I’ve had bad experiences with it in the past having built my PC around an Aorus motherboard. I originally thought that I had a faulty Oculus Rift which was stuttering, but it turned out to be Gigabyte’s background services causing serious latency issues across my PC – simply removing the apps solved the issue. I was hoping that their software might have improved since then, but it hasn’t really. RGB Fusion is still as buggy as hell and barely functions. Installing it immediately screwed up my motherboard's LED scheme and the software simply didn’t work as intended, yielding wildly different colours to the ones selected with the colour picker. Despite having set the desired colour (eventually), the Gigabyte logo would randomly reset itself to red after rebooting into Windows. I ended up setting the card’s LED to white and uninstalling the lot (thankfully the setting remains on the card itself if you do this), and then re-adjusting my motherboard’s LEDs via the BIOS. My colour scheme is now stable, no thanks to RGB Fusion. I didn't even bother with their over-clocking/monitoring app. Their software just feels clunky and poorly programmed and its not really necessary, so I'd recommend that others do the same.So the deduction of 1 star is for the atrocious software, but I’m very happy with the card itself which performs brilliantly and would have received 5 stars.

Brilliant
Brilliant card, takes a 6pin and 4 pin to power so make sure you've got those. Anthem and BF V where both delivered by email within 24 hours of delivery :D

Great example of a 2080 (non-Ti)
This is my second 2080 (non-Ti).I got one from a different store too. It’s priced really well and is a very capable GPU.The real strengths of this chip are for 144Hz 1440p gaming, VR and DirectX 12. It’s considerably more powerful in VR tests (VRMark - Blue Room) than the GTX 1080Ti.Gigabyte provide a great 4 year warrentee, if you register online, and the cooler is incredibly capable. This card will last you a very long time if you’re gaming at 1440p or below.

Brilliant card but no goodies in box
Really good card for the money. Quiet as a mouse even under load although I did have two six year old AMD cards prior to this which sounded like a jet engine under load. Haven't used the RGB lighting or software as I don't really care for how the inside of my case looks whilst I'm decapitation uruks at 3440x1440 at 70fps. Literally nothing else comes in the box which is a little disappointing.
