Zippers move smoothly and the hardware is nice. The side pockets have stretch and are deep, which I love for those taller tumblers. One shoulder strap has a drawstring pocket which is great for holding sunglasses, ChapStick, or other small items. The other shoulder strap has a detachable zippered pouch, large enough for a phone...it fit my iPhone 15 pro max. These shoulder pockets are a great addition to this backpack. I also like that it has a chest strap which keeps the shoulder straps from falling off and add support to carrying the pack on your back. It also has a whistle built into the buckle to use in case your lost. All this and the backpack is packable...folding into itself. The only thing I would change is the zipper pouch cold be slightly larger...it fit my phone but with no extra room at all.
