The book is absolutely brilliant when it comes introducing and explaining statistics to beginners. It will develop a solid base in statistics. This book covers the topics of mean of means and Standard error in an elegant manner. In my experience once this part is clear you can jump start you journey in the world of stats with commanding confidence

Very nicely narrated.

I've read this book twice till date so its really good for beginners who have just their journey as Data Analyst. They've covered pretty much every main topic and explain it details with good examples.

It’s very helpful book for someone who no more learns regularly in colleges and but want to gain statistics knowledge while travelling or doing other jobs.

A really good book to understand some core concepts of statistics at a high level.

Wonderful narration to make many of the concepts and jargons related to statistics, crystal clear. I have been from Medical background finding it very much difficult around statistics. Thanks to the author Dr. Derek Rowntree and also Thanks to Dr. Sreejith, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, NIT, Calicut, Kerala for suggesting such an excellent book. I recommend all the readers to make a 2 time read of the whole book, followed by critical reading of scientific papers. Thank you.

In depth concept

The book is very good. The paper quality is very bad. How can a publisher like Penguin do this ? Publisher needs to improve on this.

I’ve tried a dozen different “Statistics for Dummies” kind of books, always disappointing. I bought this one as a last ditch effort to get a firm hold on the half dozen basic concepts that I need for my career in law. This was the one. This did the trick. Buy it (and not the others).

When I received this book, it fit the description of what I want. Small, not too technical, easy to carry and to read on the train and also written in accessible language.This book has exceeded my expectations. I read the first 3 chapters on an outbound leg of a flight and statistical concepts have NEVER made sense so much. During my short break I was actually noticing how much I understood of certain things being discussed in the news about GDP, population and many other topics. I didnt have to crunch the numbers but I understood and questioned certain aspects of the reporting. I am currently also reviewing a lot of literature around sustainability, climate change and ESG and this has helped a lot. Currently working in Mt job reviewing trends on flexible and hybrid working and might need to design some surveys at some point. I think i will contribute to the team effort with a lot more confidence. This is a book I wish I had discovered much earlier in my career but I am glad I have it now. It will make a handy reference.
