Great value breadmaker
At £47 this breadmaker is a winner. It’s our first one and we were slightly apprehensive about getting things right, so we followed the instructions closely, only substituting olive oil for sunflower oil. Well, when the allotted time was up we opened the top to find a less than perfect loaf. The bread pan had squiggled undone so we don’t know if that affected things during the ‘knead’ phases. It had sunk on top but after cooling we found it was edible, if a little doughey. Toasting it produced a passable slice of toast. We decided to try the basic white recipe again, having read the troubleshooter section which mentioned using slightly less yeast. This we did, using 1tsp instead of one and a quarter. We also bought some sunflower oil to use. We checked the bread pan was still locked in place when the signal to add extra ingredients went off. It was still in place, so all good. Long story short(er), the loaf was excellent! Risen, browned just right and tasting of proper bread. One thing though - the bread pan had unlocked itself again. Odd. But it hadn’t affected the loaf so we’re not going to worry about it. We made a wholemeal loaf yesterday and that was a success, too. Next up, granary loaf. Nice, simple instructions/recipes, easy to clean, so I’m recommending this breadmaker.

Efficient
A friend gave me her old bread maker to try before buying my own coz I’d never used one before. Had a terrible time trying to remove the bread from the can but put up with it for a few months. In the end I decided to buy one. Didn’t want to get an expensive one, and didn’t want one with bells and whistles, so decided to try the Morphy Richard’s one for around £47. Wow I’m so glad I chose this one! It doesn’t take up much room so fits easily into my cupboard and it’s lightweight but sturdy. It’s pretty quiet and so easy to use, the finished loaf just slides out! I only use shop bought bread mixes so I can’t say how it works baking from scratch but then I don’t think I’d use it as much if I had to do all that weighing out and stuff, anything for an easy life! I can’t fault this fantastic little machine. It makes lovely bread which smells divine. I’m so happy with my purchase.

Entry Level
Having last used a bread maker a good ten years ago, we decided to give it another go as we did like having the fresh loaves available for toast or just for slathering with butter and jam for a quick breakfast. Being on a tight budget this seemed to be a good, economical buy and small enough to fit in our cramped kitchen. The first loaf was an absolute disaster out of this unit but then again the oil and the skimmed milk powder were old. So, new ingredients bought and time to try again. The 2lb white loaf rose impressively well and tasted good as a carrier for butter, however, it is on the sweet side so not so good as an accompaniment to savoury soups, etc.. Then I decided to make a wholemeal loaf, only to find the other half had purchased Granary flour so I wasn't convinced it would work, especially as there is less yeast in this recipe. I am pleased to report it has risen very well and tastes really good.As other reviewers have stated the paddle does have a tendency to flop when you are filling the unit. The easiest way to overcome this is to add 1 cup of your flour before anything else, position behind the paddle and it keeps it propped up. To be entirely honest I usually add all my dry ingredients first, then the water and oil with the yeast last of all and it works for me - the instructions say to add the fluid first but it doesn't really matter that much in an all in one machine. The pan does disengage from the motor during use but this seems to be at the end of the kneading cycle as each time we have used the machine the pan has been disengaged at the end of the cooking time but everything has mixed properly and risen nicely. The buttons are difficult to get a response to and there is a "sweet spot" for each of them so it can be a little frustrating trying to pick your bake cycle and then get it to start. So far I am very happy with what it has produced. However, I would say this is a light use machine and as we only make roughly one loaf a week (maybe two at a pinch) and only basic white or brown then it is ideal for our needs. If you are going to be making a lot of loaves or want to make fruited breads or speciality breads then I don't think this unit is really up to it. Good for an everyday loaf and a great price.

Better than I expected!
I bought this bread maker as I wanted to make bread without all the chemicals and preservatives. I can honestly say it’s the best bread I’ve had! Plus it’s fun and easily to make and prepare. Cleaning up is so simple, the pan just pops out and easily cleaned. Nothing beats the small of bread baking. Only downside to the bread maker is the needing hook falls down sometimes and ruins the bread.Definitely would recommend!

Technology Stores UK - EU product
Purchased through Technology Stores UK. Bread maker came with a 2 pin EU plug and a 3 pin adaptor. Instructions say it must be earthed. Contacted seller and was told that it was ok - product was an EU product that can't now be sold in Europe due to Brexit(?). But the adaptor "was Ok". Except that it doesn't have an earth pin..Seller has a very convoluted returns process - if the box is opened then the return value will be "drastically reduced" to quote the returns instruction.Noticed that other buyers have also received EU products with an adaptor.Fortunately, can buy the correct adaptor on Amazon for a few £ so will do that. The bread maker itself is fine - this is our second. Just check who you are buying it through.

Successful
First purchase of bread maker. Clear instructions, but remember to make sure the small mixing paddle is upright, when loading ingredients! Electronic controls are activated by a light tap. Results are good, though the sweeter recipes can leave unmixed flour patches. Very good value, using 12 programmes. I don’t see how anyone could use 31!!
