Absolutely original. And it is the new version of the battery, with the N at the name end. Gives more battery power per charge.I went for an Amazon fulfilled product and the rating of the seller, even though there are others who sell cheaper.With full frame bodies, one cannot fool around with cheapo duplicates, which the camera rejects.Absolute great buy.

Using with Canon 80D.When fully charged this will last between 50-60 minutes when shooting videos at 1080p, 30fps and 1/60 shutter speed.

It's an original Canon battery. I am using it as an extra for my canon 5d mark iv and it's working same as the one came with the camera because it's the same product. I was bit worried about originality of the project before buying it. But I am totally satisfied. If talking about the battery it last much less when I shoot 4k video. But for stills it's prity good and last 2.30 to 3 hours

Over priced bought it for 5.9k but market value is 4.3k

There's nothing to complain about. If you're looking for an original canon battery, this is what you should buy.

Always on the lookout for fakes, my battery was bought four days ago from this listing. It passed the recommended packaging and visual examination tests. It charged up using the original Canon charger in about an hour and a half. My new Canon EOS 80D confirms the battery is a genuine Canon item - very good at today's price (£52.99); I was not prepared to risk a £7.50 "compatible" on a brand new £1250 camera!

Verpackung mit Hologramm, Akku sieht täuschend echt aus. Und funktioniert auch erst mal. Nach Recherchen im Internet jedoch als Fälschung entlarvt. Die Seriennummer bca8a8d ist in vielen Foren schon bekannt. Das muss nicht zwingend für alle Anbieter gelten. Bei mir Epiphoto. Für das Geld hätte ich auch 2 seriöse No Name kaufen können. Rückerstattung war problemlos wie bei Amazon üblich.

I’d bought a couple of cheaper option batteries as a back up to genuine canon battery, but they were rubbish. I decided to fork out a bit more and buy this battery which does last longer but nowhere near as long as my original battery. Makes me wonder if it is genuine. I use my camera for filming mostly and it dies in the middle of shoots despite saying the battery is full or nearly full. When it happens it doesn’t have enough juice for it to write the data on the memory card so it’s lost forever. Very frustrating.

Jetzt bin ich doch ein wenig unsicher, ob es sich bei meinem Akku um ein Original oder eine Fälschung handelt. Von den unterschiedlichen "Gerüchten" im Netz war ich erst ein wenig skeptisch, aber die Rezensionen hier waren ja nicht verkehrt.Die Verpackung war nicht versiegelt, so dass man den Akku ohne viel Aufwand aus der Verpackung nehmen konnte. Also erst mal aufgeladen und dann ab in die Kamera um den Ladezustand zu prüfen und die Seriennummer zu checken und dann ab in die Kamera damit. Nach voller Ladung meldet die Kamera 84%? Naja, vielleicht muss der Akku erst mal leer "geknipst" werden bis er auf volle Leistung kommt.Bei der Eingabe der Seriennummer stosse ich dann aber leider immer wieder auf die Info, dass es sich hierbei um eine bereits bekannte Fake-Seriennummer handelt, die bereits für den LP-E6 verwendet wurde. Das macht mich doch alles etwas stutzig. Jetzt ist guter Rat teuer.....direkt zurück schicken oder erst mal beobachten?UPDATE 18.09.2018:Tja, dann scheine ich wohl Pech mit meinem Akku zu haben. Heute war er nun den 2. Tag im Einsatz und nachdem ich ca. 25 Bilder gemacht habe (ganz normale Aufnahmen, kein Blitz, keinen Langzeitbelichtungen etc), zeigt die Anzeige noch ganze 4% an und geht 2 Minuten später aus. Also ab ins Ladegerät. Das Ladegerät zeigt unter 25% an.....nach ganzen 6 Minuten blinkt das Ladegerät grün, 100%. Aha, das ist ja schon sehr merkwürdig, also nach weiteren 5 Minuten den Akku in die Kamera gesteckt. Kamera zeigt nur 2 Balken an und die Akku-Info sagt 23%. Das war's dann wohl für mich. Bewertung somit von 2 Sternen auf 1 Stern korrigiert. Schade....

I bought some not-Canon batteries to supplement the battery provided with my new Canon EOS 80D - this was a false economy as the cheaper batteries did not fit! So I bought this Canon spare battery - and yes, it is genuine Canon item which is identical to the battery supplied with my camera. Although the blurb say it's for an EOS 70, it fits my EOS 80D perfectly well, although I haven't actually used the camera yet. I can't comment of battery life or longevity but, having used Canon cameras and accessories for nearly 20 years, I expect no problems.
