Correction - this tool most certainly does require a battery. your specification section has this wrong. i does not come with the required battery.

You are correct - this ships as a bare tool in a cardboard box without a battery or case. The description should be updated. Also, while we are at it, the manufacturer is “MILWAUKEE” there is no “MILWAUKEE’S.” Sadly, some Amazon sellers don’t do a great job with written accuracy.

Will this work with a standard 12 volt 2500mah battery or do I need 4000mah batteries?

It will work with all Milwaukee 12v batteries , from 1500mah to 6000mah.
