I needed to connect a couple of switches to my UPS after I discovered (on a test run, thankfully) that the Synology network UPS option fails dismally in a power cut situation, as the switches lose power and the boxes can no longer communicate. As there’s not much room, I needed really short adapters. These are perfect, just long enough for my needs. The kettle end slots in smoothly and the plug socket is easy to handle, with no snagging and takes the plug snugly. One test run later, the whole thing passed with flying colours. Now I know my NAS boxes will cope properly in the event of a power outage and I’m a happy chap!

I've got a NAS (Network Attached Storage) device attached to a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) which allows the NAS to shut down gracefully in the event of a power outage (and power up again when the power returns). Connected to the NAS, I have an external hard disk for additional back up of critical files. This requires mains power via an external DC power supply. The UPS has spare power outlets in the form of IEC C14 sockets. So this unit is exactly what I needed to connect the Hard disk to the UPS. Now both the NAS and the Hard Disk are protected from power outages. It's a simple item but it does its job well.

I'm happy with this socket, it was exactly what I needed. I don't want to say anything negative about this because it is fine for my needs, I personally have no complaints, however, for people who want incredible durability, I wouldn't want to bet on the strenth of the plastic, the build quality is great but the plastic is light. If you aren't going to abuse it on the road this will be fine for you. Good buy, great price, 100% satisfied.

I was not a fan of the IEC interface, and my router and other devices use different connectors too. So, this is the best option for me. Allows you to just plug basically anything into your UPS because it's just a normal socket. Though, this could be a bad thing in certain scenarios. I ordered 5 of them and they're great! No quality concerns, packaging was a horrible single-use plastic. The fit of them can be a little tight on some of them, eases up with use though...

When you get a UPS it's a great thing - you can survive power cuts when everything else stops working. Apart from when the UPS doesn't have regular sockets on it. That's where this comes in, converting an IEC socket into a regular 3-pin UK plug socket. The length of the cable is just right to keep things tidy and enable good positioning.

I needed this as my latest UPS used IEC connections closely spaced. This little lead solved my problem!
