Buy one. You may not know it but you need one :)
Awesome. Use it in my work van to charge my phone. Works well and retracts the cord when not needed so no dangly wires to wrap up. Cool and easy, I don't need much more than this in life.

Does the job well, but room for improvement
I only needed this for charging not data, for which it performs perfectly fine. The retraction is a notched method, meaning you can let it lock at certain lengths, then pull out slightly and let it retract all the way back. It doesn't go all the way back with ease though, as some coaxing needed because the pull becomes a bit weaker the closer it gets, but that's not really an issue. Because of the system used, you must always pull from the ends, trying to pull from the centre loop will just result in one side getting the slack stuck in the mechanism -- again not really an issue. The length is adequate for most handheld operation when connected to something else around waist height, but up to the ear or from a trouser pocket it is too short, so I hope Lindy produce a longer one of 1m and/or 1.5 as there is definitely a need for it.Sadly my phone has the port on the left hand side (flat edge of port/connector facing front), so the right angle is in the wrong direction -- pointing up not down. This is my only major gripe which limits it to a 4 star. Perhaps making a version for the opposite direction, or with a pivotable connector would be wise.

Thin Cable
Not the most robust thing.

Tempermental
I've had this a few weeks now and I find it will work intermittently. If you need an emergency charge or need to transfer data and have a socket handy, it's great. For general every day use, use a proper cable. When it works, it works well.

Robust and reliable retractable USB to microUSB cable
There are plenty of others like this out there and I've bought several - either for office or personal use down the years. Although they look practically identical - I'd always figured they're all made at the same factory somewhere tbh - but the build quality varies quite a bit. I had a couple of the Daffodil ones for instance and both weren't very good - the connection at the microUSB plug was always flaking out so recharging was a pain and the casing popped open a couple of times. This Lindy one connects solidly and the right angled plug is actually pretty sensible. Recommended.

broke after a couple of days
While it was working it was a very good little device / cable.Retraction mechanism is very fragile though - if one end gets caught/pulled without the other evenly it breaks really easily.OK for very careful / occasional use, not for everyday.

Mostly durable
I bought one of these two years ago. It's been used pretty much daily for charging a Wildfire S and occationally for data. It's still working perfectly. I just ordered another one.Update:The retraction mechanism on the second one I ordered broke after six months, but Amazon gave me a replacement.

Works with Sony Xperia T
Like other reviewers, I've only used this for charging in the car, but it works every time. The USB socket on my Sony Xperia T is on the left-hand side, and this cable points downward when plugged in, which is what I hoped.
