UPDATE - I wanted to add that I recently got he EF-S 17-55mm F2.8 IS USM, and this lens also fits in this pouch. I have to take the hood off it though, which I then attach to my bag with a velcro strap. The lens fits perfect length wise, but the case is a bit wide for the lens. It does do a decent job of protecting the lens, seeing as how my daughter promptly knocked the lens case with lens off the table (3ish feet)and onto the wood floor and the lens was none the worse for wear. The velcro on the strap of the case holds well, secures the lens to my backpack well.I don't like to carry a big camera bag in addition to my normal backpack or ruck, and this allows me to carry my small SLR case and grab whichever lenses I think I will need for the trip.The zippers are sturdy and overall this case is an appropriate value for the price (under $10.00). It's still relatively new, so should it break down or tear apart on me I will update.
