Awesome find
Don’t let the size of this little guy fool you. I’ve been using this air tool in the field for a while now and it’s the most powerful air gun I’ve ever used. It even beats out the bigger ones. I don’t know how but it does!! I use it to torque down up to 1 1/8” bolts on 2” copper bus bars. It’s truly amazing!!

From dad being a mechanic his whole life , me being a gamer,- inow have afew power tools based off suggestions, - This was described as a good light weight pneumatic air impact, it solves all my problems upto 200psi ,- I take apart or put together accessories on heavy steel body salter plow trucks and it gets the nuts n bolts off np

home mechanic game changer
This review is for an Aircat 1077-TH 3/8" compact air impact wrench purchased 2019-04-03 from Amazon. It took me a bit to choose between this and the older Aircat 1075-TH, the deciding factor being that the 1077-TH is more compact. I considered the Aircat 1076-XL but the 1077-TH is more compact and I prefer an aluminum body. According to the easily obtained Aircat user manual, the 1/2" drive version (1057-TH) of this tool is functionally identical (dimensions, weight, torque, rpm, ipm) except for the larger drive anvil. I was facing an engine swap from a somewhat rusty Honda Civic to my daily driver Civic and this tool was worth every penny and more for making the task much less miserable and faster. Not exactly but close is that if your hand formed into a fist will fit you can get in there with this air tool, almost like a robotic attachment for your arm. I possess two much higher torque 1/2" air impact guns that I appropriately use on large fasteners but I removed and tore down an engine (except for crank pulley bolt) with my 1077-TH utilized as much as possible, which is certainly more often than a large air impact gun (too bulky and heavy) and air ratchet (too long, low power) combined would have been used; exhaust system, tie rods, engine mounts to main bearing caps. The power and rotation switches being integrated into the trigger is excellent but the three choices are nowhere near as useful for assembling components as the ~0-100% adjuster like my Chicago Pneumatic gun has. I was comfortable using the #1 setting (lowest TQ) to speed up some assembly but #2 and #3 have a lot of power so despite acceptable modulation I stuck to hand tools and torque wrenches for final assembly. (Pro mechanics may laugh but not at all funny are two stripped transaxle to engine block (aluminum) threads and a stripped transaxle (aluminum) mounting stud threads thanks to the Yelp 5 Star mechanic who is on record as the last guy to touch those components of the donor Civic. Thanks Amazon and Timesert for an under 16 hour solution to those problems...) I'm somewhat reluctantly giving 4 stars because on the lowest of 3 torque settings, often times there is no response to the trigger, just airflow through the tool, like there is "stiction" but Aircat technical support / customer service was prompt and excellent in response to another complaint that I had, which turned out to be unfounded. The Aircat 1077-TH that I own and have used 100+ times now is actually the second one that I received. I returned the first one because it vibrated free spin (no load, no impact) like no air tool that I have ever used in 30+ years of fixing literally every mechanical thing that I have owned and having worked in high school and college at a service station and a tire shop. It was the weekend or late Friday, I was on a schedule and was misled (as it turned out) by another review that cited excessive vibration and a return so I immediately submitted a return and ordered a replacement one. When the second one vibrated no different from the first, I messaged Aircat and was informed with a very nice PDF detailing the hammer mechanisms that, yeah, they do that because of the Jumbo Hammer that is unlike the common twin hammer design that I've been exposed to. Understanding that the vibration is normal, it's not uncomfortable nor objectionable at all. .

Compact size with power
I bought this for a particular repair and it worked perfectly. I used it for a nightmare plug change on a 5.4 L triton and did not break a single plug. it is small enough that I got it into all the tight spaces. I would highly recommend for this job.

10/10
10/10 highly recommend. Smaller then snap on’s, milewakees, and every other air impact I’ve used or seen. Also packs and incredibly strong punch even in 3/8 drive

Impact
Second time buying this. Excellent product. First ones lasted years.

This thing is an assassin. It gets into places and hits about as hard as you could hope for. Most quiet air impact I've seen. I use it mostly while doing brakes and steering/suspension components. It does not replace a regular impact wrench, but for me it gets a similar amount of use. Compact electrics don't come close to it's power. I've had it for over two years and it's still hitting strong.

If youre in the automotive trade, you have to have one in your box. Squeeze in to those tight spots like taking off those link end kits.

Best Impact for this price. Beast for tight spots, great loosing torque.

Update: used professionally 3 years now. Still pick this up over any other gun I have and ask it to do things I know it shouldn't but she goes and does it. Definitely shortens job times.

Hits hard and runs smooth with a solid finish very decent for the price would highly recommend
