A great start!

The tablet is honestly a really good deal. My pen does mess up sometimes though, even though I’ve only stated using it. The screen gets dirty pretty easily too.

D13 S Tablet and Stand review

To start with, I hate that Amazon lumps all the reviews together. The majority of the reviews I found for this set of products is for the tablet STAND ALONE. Most people don't need comprehensive reviews for a 50 dollar piece of plastic. When I purchased this product I wanted to know I wasn't spending $400 on a piece of junk tablet. So with that out of the way, I'll be reviewing the D13 S tablet.I purchased this product as a substitute for the incredibly expensive Wacom Cintiq screen tablets. I had bought my wife the newest version of the Cintiq for Christmas and after spending nearly 3 weeks and an additional ~100 dollars I had sworn off Wacom products. However when it did work she enjoyed it so I resolved to purchase a screen tablet for myself, as I was curious if another brand could work just as well for significantly less money.Overall the tablet performs mostly as expected. It was packaged nicely and feels sturdy enough while not being overly heavy. The screen feels like a smooth plastic and has not scratched in my several months of using it. The cables are plenty long and fit nicely into the tablet without wobble or fear of them coming loose unexpectedly. The product's drivers are mostly ok but have a few issues that keep this tablet from being amazing. The pen seems to work just fine, it's mostly comfortable to hold for long periods, pressure sensitivity seems to work well, but I have encountered some strange pen jittering in certain programs and even on specific areas of the tablet. I'll include pictures to attempt to demonstrate this. The stand came with my tablet and I quite like the stand, I've even used it with other devices. Now to go into a little more detail, I've included a list of pros and cons.PROS:POWER CABLESMany screen tablets require an additional power cable to be plugged into the wall to function. This tablet is powered by USB to your computer, making it's portability exceptional. This limits the cables you need to carry around if you like to work mobile. I for one draw connected to a laptop and like to move around, so this was a big plus for me. In the photos you can see I attempted to keep the cables together and protected with some braided plastic stuff I bought on Amazon.PRICEObviously price is a huge consideration here, and I feel like the tablet is reasonably priced for what you get.BUTTONSI very much like having the tactile feel of physical buttons when working and having a scrolling wheel much like I'm used to with Wacom tablets is very much appreciated. Buttons work well and have a nice click feel when you press them. However their function is heavily limited by the drivers as I will mention in the cons section.CONS:PRODUCT SUPPORT WEBSITEThe website which you download the drivers from can be somewhat contradictory, where one page will tell you to download a driver over a year old if you have the latest version of Windows, but the main driver page lists much more recent drivers as being universal drivers with no stipulations. It just seems maybe some of their help articles need updating.DRIVERSPerhaps my biggest gripe with the product overall is the drivers ability to customize your buttons. When you enter the program to adjust your tablet's button settings, you get a sort of convoluted drop down menu that might not even have all the options you'd like or need. And the pen buttons get the worst of it. I have drawn for many years now digitally, and I have always always always had my pen buttons be undo and redo to speed up my work flow. This setting is currently impossible with the Artisul line of products. The dropdown menu for the pen buttons only give you the options of several different mouse clicks, and a pen/eraser toggle. Compare this method of customization of the Wacom line of products which allows you to effectively press a series of buttons and then save it to a single button press of any button on the tablet or pen, and this is a major downside. Another issue which may be more of a Windows issue but I can't say for sure, is that nearly every time I plug the tablet in, or turn it on to use it, I have to change the screen the pen is mapped to, meaning, the pen will initially move the mouse on my main screen rather then on the tablet screen. An easy fix to make, but still annoying.PEN JITTERI've found in some programs that even a light press will cause the mouse to rapidly jump back and forth, left and right, even when holding the pen completely still, an issue that prevents clean or smooth lines when drawing. This problem almost seems to be tied to a specific area of the tablet screen, unfortunately, that area isn't tucked away in some never used corner of the screen, but right where my hand rests the majority of the time. This is a particularly concerning problem, as it is not easily fixed or dealt with. It simply makes it impossible to draw precise, clean lines when moving slowly over that part of the screen. But again, I'll reiterate that this doesn't appear to happen in all programs, for example, Clip Studio Paint doesn't seem to have this problem, nor does this occur on the desktop. Finally, an issue I'm unsure of how to classify, is that just recently, the screen on the tablet has taken a sort of grainy look to it sporadically. It seems to happen based on the angle I'm holding the tablet and for awhile I could change it's effect on the screen just by how I held the tablet. It also changes as I move the cables when the tablet is still. This leads me to believe it is likely a problem with the cables, probably the HDMI cable since it carries all the video information, but as of yet I have no way of a guaranteed fix. I'll attempt to go through the company warranty to see if they can remedy this, and update the review once it's resolved.
