Some adventures are equal parts connecting with Friends, having fun outside, and discovering new places. The sleek outline gtx is ideally suited to such adventures, with lightweight and flexibility like a running shoe, but enough grip and protection for any trail.

A high quality hiking shoe - lightweight and comfortable.
A well made shoe that wears like a perfect hybrid between a running shoe and a hiking boot. The shoe tends to be narrow and runs a tad small. Normally wear a US 10.5 and based on other reviews opted for a US 11. Even then I thought on first trying on they might be too snug. But after walking around a bit my feet settled in. Wore them for a 3 mile walk to make sure and the fit was perfect. Arch support is also excellent. Finally, light weight, stylish and quality materials.

Best mountain shoe out there
By far my favorite GoreTex hiking shoes! I’ve tried various different brands including Merrill, Keen, and other Solomon styles. Comfortable out of box with no break in needed. I’m not standing in creeks, but keeps my feet dry from wet grass. I use them for disc golf which is about 1.5 mile wooded course. Other brands had issues with rubber sole separating from soles from pivot foot dragging on concrete tee box. This design is more durable in these areas and hold up to the abuse. Also, they do not get hot and vent much better than others I have tried. This is my 2nd pair.

Nice shoe that lasted less than a year
I've owned a lot of Salomon shoes. And Lowa's, Montrail (pre-Columbia), Adidas Outdoor, Merrell etc. these I got as an "everyday" wear – I live in Colorado so I prefer a goretex or waterproof shoe even in summer, as you never know when you'll be going through puddles, rain, etc. and I do a fair amount of walking and hiking on loose trail.Fit wise, they were just a hair tight, if my "measured" proper fit is 9.5 that's a 10.5 in Nikes or gym shoes, and standardly a 10 if I want to allow a little bit of foot swell as I hike. These in a 10 fit right and just a hair tight, so I'd go half size up from what you'd measure at if you'll be hiking in them – 9.5 was too small.Wear wise is where this shoe suffered. It lasted me 9 months before the bottoms were flat under my heel and toe box where it hits the most wear. I'd say fit wise, loved them very comfortable and supportive and for a "low" they weren't "too low" like a lot of the newer shoe style hikers. I returned the XA Pro, Pathfinder Mid, and Outbound Prism's for this reason, your foot doesn't get enough support in those below the ankle IMO. The tread on this, like most Salomon, are first class when it's new, but all their new soles tend to wear so fast. These were super comfortable for sub 7mi hikes without a pack, and daily casual wear, and all the seams and upper area held very well and did well for light water/snow - I really wish these gave me a couple years and I'd buy a second pair in a heartbeat, this color and the olive are a great look, but I've replaced them with X Crest GTX's hoping those soles last longer. The X Crest isn't as casual looking but seems more burley but time will tell. 10 years ago, the Quest GTX had rugged long lasting soles, Salomon please get back on it.

Terrific shoe!
I was looking for months for just the right shoe (I am very particular) and this was it. Light weight but with a with a stronger hiking-type sole, with Gore-Tex and good appearance. Light enough that you forget about them, but strong enough for light hiking on moderate terrain. The only caution I have is that some might find the advertised size smaller than expected. I normally wear 11.5 (US), but I tried on that size at a store and round them a bit too tight in the toe. They did not have a 12, so I ordered it from Amazon and they were perfect - one of the best fitting shoes I've had.

Comfortable and dry
I bought this product because I work at a car wash were you tend to get wet and walking in wet shoes & socks all day sucks. So, around this time of year I try to look for waterproof shoes (mainly because all the ones in the past I've bought have not lasted a couple months, and sometimes you can tell after a week or so) and I found these with goretex built in. I've heard nothing but good things about Salomons so I decided to give them a try. When I bought them they were pretty tight (I have a wide foot) but if you've worn hiking/trail running shoes you know they have to form to your foot. After about a week of wearing them they are the extremely comfortable and I can wear them 8 hours a day with no pains. The best thing however is that they have not gotten wet on the inside once. These have practically submerged in water and are still completely dry.

Great hiking shoe!
Got these as a birthday gift for my hubs. He is an athlete and a runner, but we've taken up hiking over the years, so having a more athletic-style hiking shoe is great for him. They're definitely slip-proof, water-resistant, lightweight and they're not stiff. He should be able to do trail running in these because they're so flexible and light.I do have to say, I thought they looked awful in the box, however they look much better once he put them on. They do run small and are very slim, which is why I had to order the 'wide' version. Hoping they'll last the hiking abuse!
