Surpasses Expectations
Holy cow! These augers handled the worst soil. Living by a glacier made sound, there are rocks EVERYWHERE...and clay! While they didn't immediately go down 23" immediately, it was way easier than digging by hand. Tips: !. when working with rock, I found it worked better by not pushing down hard, but rather let the blades vibrate the rocks and soil loose by holding it without pressure. 2. I found using the little screw to hold the auger to the extension was tedious when switching sizes. It worked just fine without the connecting screw. I was able to dig 12 holes with the augers holding up to the task. And at this price...well worth it.

Great bits all around
These bits have become one of my most useful for my yard. Durable enough that I used them to get the posts up for a 8’x16’ chicken coop, I use them regularly to mix my compost bin. All the sizes also help when the wife was planting flowers in the garden.

Digs OK but burned my drill motor out
Yes, the ground was wet before I started digging. I dug about 5-6 12 inch deep holes before my 1/2" drill motor burned out. Soooooo - the product is OK but be careful how much you dig or you'll be buying a new drill. :-)

Very useful and effective
Effective. Beware- brace your stance hard while using these. You can literally break your arm/wrist if you're not paying attention, and hit a rock. Trust.

I may get a second set just to have around!
These things are the BEST! Once I get down about 2' I hit a layer of clay and struggle to get through it. These bits are the answer to that issue! I start with the small and make several holes then move to the medium and then the large. I get through the clay a lot faster and easier than I could with just my post hole digger. It saves me time and energy.I've done a lot of work with these and they're tough and durable even when I encounter rocks. When I put in our mailbox post, I encountered a lot of rocks and these worked great to help get the rocks loose so I could get them out.I have trees to plan on our land and these will help get that work done and will save me time and energy. They're a great value for the price!
